I spent a lot of time reading reviews of Zulu Nyala so I hope this is helpful for anyone considering a trip there! Pre-trip: - We won this at an auction through my husband's work, we had read the reviews, we feel like we came adequately prepared for what to expect, we visited a few other safari-type places for short...

Upon my wife's and my readings of the reviews here, we weren't sure what to expect. First let us state that any issues others may have encountered were not experienced by us...not sure if that is a result of our easygoing vacation nature, or having educated ourselves before going...but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Negatives: Our negatives are really more...

Like many others, we were winning bidders at a charity function for 7 nights in South Africa. After 3 nights at the Country Manor in Johannesburg, we traveled to the Safari Game Lidge for 4 nights. It's a smaller reserve but full of many animals (no lions) and a wonderfully informative and humorous guide named Bernie. Food was so-so, with...

My husband and I bid on the trip like so many others at a charity auction. We stayed at the Safari Game Reserve Lodge and were very happy with our room and view. The other reviewers are correct...this is a smaller reserve--but it makes it more likely you will be able to see all the animals. We took an excursion...

Zulu Nyala is a small private game reserve. They do not have all the big 5 animals – no lions or leopards. The area is far small than other reserves. We stayed there 6 nights and by the end of that time had easily seen all their animals multiple times – elephants, giraffes, zebras, water buffalo, rhinos, nyala, impala, kudu...

We flew into Richard's Bay and our enthusiastic Game Ranger Deon picked us up and drove us to Zulu Nyala. Along the way to the Game Lodge, Deon told us about the surrounding area and shared with us information about the local plants. He also shared with us his experiences and how he became a Game Ranger. When we as...

I was there on business & had taken to this place. Its beautiful. You have to be there to experience it. The staff is friendly. The establishment is very neat with the restaurant over looking the game lodge. Magnificent views.

We bid on a photo safari package and had high bid. We finally got organized to go more than a year-and-half after our bid. We're glad we made it. We started our trip in Cape Town, then Zulu Nyala, then several days in Durban. Conveniently, we were able to use transfers between Durban and Zulu Nyala, which worked well and...

Just returned from 6 night stay at Zulu Nyala. Yes....purchased at charity auction. Spent 3 nights in tent camp at Heritage, then moved to 3 nights at Game Lodge. We chose the tents for the experience of the tents. We had a standard tent, there are much larger tents, but we don't spend much time in the room. The tent...

I agree with all that George L stated. (see other recent reviews) We purchased the trip at an auction and upon arrival, felt that it was all part of an elaborate marketing ploy, as they pushed diamond sales, etc. In all, if you overlook that, this was a wonderful and safe experience for what we called "Africa 101", our first...
