We stayed at Fairy Knowe for three nights. We had a riverfront room, which is right on the river and the view is very pleasant and peaceful. The hotel itself is desperately in need of modernising - and in the meantime a good vacuuming. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel is picturesque and...

The hotel is situated in a wonderful location and although very clean, it could do with some maintenance and updating. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We felt however that it was over-priced.

Great for a family holiday. Good fun for kids and adults alike. Perfect positioning by the river and not very far from shops and restaurants. Hotel rooms and restaurant need some renovation and TLC. Not easy to find! Had a bit of difficulty to find it with the GPS.

Warm smiling staff throughout. Tennis, pool, river with boats and fishing shop, views to die for, bar, restaurant, large sitting room with TV, What more do you want! Not sure about disabled standard better to check. wifi is not in many rooms and thats a tiresome and costly omission. But it has a great friendly atmosphere and safe for family...

We stayed here on our trip along the garden route. The hotel has history to it and was therefore a retro hotel pre 1940 style. It proved to be an excellent choice for us in a fabulous location in wilderness next to the river with great walks. We saw a group of Knysna Turaco parrots. Ate out in wilderness on...

It all started the moment we arrived when we found that despite having booked, we were not. We should have left then but the receptionist Anina smoothed the situation . The room we were allocated was found to have plugs that were not working so we were "upgraded" to a river view bungalow. The only good thing about this bungalow...

Was in wilderness for two days, and very much enjoyed our stay there. Kanooing was a great experience with beautiful nature. Fairy knowe is a rustic hotel, stay in the rooms on the water, as the rest are and are in need of being renovated in the next two years. Staff friendly helpful and ready to give good tips. Cheers

Good value for money, we stayed in a river facing unit. The interior a bit tacky but a good size room. The bathrooms however needs a total revamp though. The staff was friendly and the morning breakfast filling.

Lovely setting and a safe place to stay, peaceful and a great way to de stress after a hectic day. All staff really good, food good, some of the rooms need a little bit of tender love and care but will always go back. Rates excellent and good for business and leisure.
