We stayed for 1 night with a group of 6. Everything was perfect from start to finish and Deon & Sue were amazing hosts. Location, cleanliness, breakfast all perfect. The Birdlife was unreal and it was just lovely sitting around enjoying the marvels of nature. Only regret is we only stayed 1 night but we will definetly be back.
Best stay ever. The hosts were super friendly, accommodating and truly went out of their way for us. Breakfast was phenomenal and the rooms are stunning! The peacefulness will replenish any weary soul and I would recommend this beautiful lodge to all.
My Sister-in-law and I stayed at Call of the Wild Lodge recently and we had a lovely stay. the Bedrooms are so cosy and the bed so soft and warm. All the interior decorations as well as the garden landscaping are beautiful. We particularly liked our breakfast location - watching all the birds and animals. Thank you Deon and Sue so much for making our stay so special.
We booked our first night on the spur of the moment as we had arrived in Hoedspruit unexpectedly on an early flight. Sue and Deon are wonderful hosts. The accommodations are outstanding. Everything works! The birds and surrounding wildlife reserve are special. The breakfasts were great. Can't really say enough good things about our two stays at Call of the Wild Lodge. The game drives through the Reserve were a big bonus.
The main difference between a lodge and a guest house is that the owners of a lodge don't live on the same premises while the owners of a guest house usually live on the same premises but within a separate area of the premises (Google) We wanted to stay in a lodge but we arrived at a guest house with a garden room. Some pictures on the website are of the living room/kitchen of the owner. A lodge/(4 star hotel as advertised) definitely provide the guest with the option to enjoy these public areas without having to feel that you are intruding. We decided to leave early the next morning to rather book into a lodge/hotel.
