We spent four nights at Vuyani and really enjoyed it. This is a perfect combination of coming close to the wild animals and staying at a high-end lodge with all the great service and food you need. It is also a social thing. You eat...More
We don't know where to start.
We would give Vuyani 6 stars if possible. The staffs care and professionalism from the correspondence with Bernard before arriving and to being dropped back at Johannesburg airport when we left by the owner Craig was great and a...More

Oh we will! No worries about that. :-) in fact, it would be our pleasure to see you back at the lodge.

The week we spent at Vuyani will go down as one of the best holidays we have had. Every part of this trip was exceptional. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the honeymoon suite was beautiful, very comfortable and even had some wildlife stop...More

I wanted my daughters to experience African wildlife. Vuyani seemed to have more reasonable rates than a lot of other lodges. We stayed in the managers two bedroom apartment which was very comfortable. The meals were all great and Rose the chef was lovely. Our...More

Many thanks for leaving such a positive and detailed account of your stay with us.
And you are right, our rates are amongst the best value for money for an all-inclusive top end safari experience on a private game reserve in the Kruger Park...More

Dave & Jane,
We've been to 7 African countries since 2007 and we found Vuyani in 2013. Since then we've been back to Vuyani 5 times. The first year we went they had 3 lions and they did take some finding. we did find them but the thrill of the chase, and the anticipation is a real thrill. Over the years lion numbers did go up but to the point where there were too many for the 36,000 acres and all the lions were related so some had to be removed because of the reproduction issues. Leopards are elusive creatures and do keep themselves to themselves, particularly now they have cubs. Hyenas, and wild dogs live in packs so you either see loads of them or none.
We have seen them all and the sightings have been superb.
If you expect to see lion, leopard, wild dog and hyena daily then you need to go to a zoo and Vuyani is not for you. if you want excellent trackers, superb food and the excitement and thrill of tracking these animals then Vuyani is the place.
For an example of "the chase" have a look on the safari blog on Vuyani and go back in the older posts about a year.
I can't use links in the question section but if you can find me on facebook via the Vuyani facebook page you'll see more pictures from somebody who loves the place and doesn't work there.

February is our summer, it will be steaming hot most of the time and still warm in the evening, Mornings can be a little frisky sometimes on drive, so as Alan already wrote if you think layers all will be OK. As it is summer the African Sun will be unforgiving so hats and sunglasses are a must as well as the sunblock. There may also be the occasional rain shower as it is our rainy season. Ponchos are available from the Lodge.
All stations or stops you may wish to stop at during the transfer do accept Visa/Master card. Most places will have cash points too. You will not require a huge amount of money, rates are very decent in South Africa.
Activities and transfers at the lodge can be paid by card too. You can bring cash spending money for activities off the reserve the amounts are obviously up to you but you can pay by card almost everywhere except for the market if you take the panorama tour.
Tips are totally up to you, management does not get involved but you can tip staff directly.
