The check in was ok up to the point when we had to wait until 2pm for our key. When most people vacate early and my husband was sick this was annoying. No wifi at all. The cottage was clean and had seen some maintenance. The bushbuck in the camp were lovely. Good shop and pool. Fantastic views over the...

Well, yes, the bungalow had seen a lot of use but it was comfortable and very clean. Everything was old but in good working order. We took a 3 bed bungalow for the two of us and it worked out well - we had somewhere to put our luggage other than on the floor. We did not see there was...

Resort very nice and clean. Very friendly staff and very help and professional. A must is to visit the elephant museum close to the restaurant. Very well equipped shop and pricing not bad at all. Very nice pool at the camp and will definitely visit again!

Chalets old and tired for the price of accommodation but the surroundings are terrific, spotted lots of Hippo, elephant, crocodile and bok from the camp, lots of Duiker (small deer) wandering around the camp, day and night and quite approachable to take photo's, the place overlooks the Letaba river and has a Mug & Bean restaurant.

This is one of the more beautiful camps in Kruger. You'll see bushbuck and monitor lizards throughout the camp. It is well shaded by a range of stunning mature trees (including the giant sausage tree neat the M&B). The swimming pool is beautiful, a great spot to watch the woodlands kingfishers flying to and fro. On the other side of...

The camp has a great location on the Letaba river. Our units were well equipped and serviced efficiently during our 2 night stay. The swimming pool was welcome as it was quite hot. We had a great leopard sighting on the dirt road along the Letaba river. Female leopard walking along the road.

What a joy! I highly recommend to stay at Letaba as the staff are friendly and quiet and have their guests interest at heart! What a joy to find in contrast to Satara, clean public toilets and beautiful manicured lawns and sparkly clean bungalows!!

Lower Sabie was the most disappointing camp we visited in Kruger Park (we were in Letaba, Skukuza and Lower Sabie). The room smelled and was only superficially cleaned especially with a dirty sticky fridge. The communal bathrooms were full of sand and mud on the floor. The restaurant (mugg and bean) is nothing special. The staff was unfriendly. We would...

We love to visit Kruger whenever we are in South Africa. Foir animal sightings it really never disappoints. On this trip we witnessed (off a main road totally unexpectedly) a leopard kill as well as all of the other big 5. We always tell ourselves that you don't stay in the park for the accommodation but for the easy and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The idyllic Letaba Rest Camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the Kruger National Park. The name means "river of sand", and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favourite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicadas all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent. ... more   less
