We arrived at the Mopani Rest camp for a 2-night stay. The cottage was a large, fairly rambling affair with 3 bedrooms (one en suite) and two bathrooms. Although this is one of the newer camps, it appears to suffer from lack of maintenance; It also lacks the charm and design of the traditional camps. The fire extinguisher was missing...

Spacious rondawels with airconditioner, bath and shower and own small patio with braai area. Stocked with all the basic kitchen utensils. We stayed in no 84 which was right at the end of one the "circles". Very private. If possible try to get a chalet with a dam view. The guest house unit is also a nice option if you...

We enjoyed it. We were only here for 2night, but had a wonderful stay. The houses are amazing. Very spacious, a nice balcony with a view of the bush. The restaurant area is also very nice, beautiful view of the lake. There is a lot of elephants in this area. We were here in summer, so it was very green.

We just returned from a trip to Kruger Park. Our first part of the trip was spent at the Wild Olive Tree Camp, which was fabulous. The second park was at the Mopani Rest Camp. The camp itself is stunning and the bungalows are really lovely. They are clean and in excellent condition. As a guest, you really don't need...

We had a large bungalow for a family that was clean and nice. Every bungalow have kitchen outside and bbq. You can have game drive with local guide: ours was not so lucky.... There is a restaurant inside the camp: strongly suggested the breakfast, amazing view!!!!!!!!

Many camps don't offer enough accommodation for larger families (more than 3 pax). Mopani has the FF6 chalets which are ideal. We had a good unit allocated. The unit was spotless and presented good value for money. Travelers should know that Mopani is situated in an area within KNP where game is not as abundant but the natural beauty is...

We stayed in four different camps in Kruger and this was probably our favorite! The huts are great and there is a nice bar and restaurant looking over the water. The camp is far enough north that it seems like the camp is completely disconnected from the rest of humanity.

This was the second time we booked our entire Kruger Park stay at Mopani Rest camp. This camp remains the best "public" and affordable camp . The camp is more modern and has that "new" feel to it compared to the other public camps. There's a variety of rooms to choose from, ranging from large family rooms to smaller 2...

Really happy with the camp... The rooms are nice and neat. The one thing is being amongst the Mopani trees right around the bungalows... you don't have any view really. But it still has that great Kruger feel.

We spent 2 nights at this camp and we're really pleasantly surprised by it. It is very far north but there is decent game in the area. Make sure you take binoculars to try and count the crocodiles in the massive dam which the bar overlooks. The walk around the perimeter was great as it takes you right up to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On the banks of the Pioneer Dam in the Kruger National Park, lies it's best kept secret. Named after the mopane veld that surrounds the camp, Mopani Rest Camp nestles amongst the Mopani tree covered koppies. A signature feature is the huge gnarled old baobab tree in the heart of the camp. The vegetation inside the camp is left as found in the wild, adding to the unique atmosphere of the camp. ... more   less
