If we had known that the area adjoining Satara was so rich in wildlife, we would have stayed more than one night ! The rest camp in itself boasts the usual good standards of the Kruger camps : swimming pool, restaurant, shop, comfortable accomodation... It lacks the amazing views of other camps but this is more than compensated by the...

Quiet, clean- again great place to spend the night after wild life viewing days. We went to Olifants camp for breakfast, seeing leopards and honey badgers on the way. So much wildlife. The night drive was interesting - civets, lions eating a baby hippo, lions mating, buffalo, leopard and elephants.

Clean room, shower, aircon, fridge, kettle, utensils, fridge. 15 yards from fence - perimeter rondavel. What mire could you want. African Wild Cat, vervet monkeys in camp, Lion roaring at night, Buffalo and Wildebeest seen from rondavel. Mugg and Beans or pizza place not the best in Kruger but edible. Had great fun with a BBQ - its an art...

We stayed there on our toor to KNP, nice rooms, clean and confortable. Large camp and gets a bit confusing at the beging. Camp has a lot of boards showing what game where seen on the morning/night excursions. At nights you can hear and see the animals outside the camp.

Perfect place if you want a low budget stay and be inside the park. The bungalows are quaint and clean. There is a restuarant and a great store. You can self drive or even join the safari vehicle. They have an outdoor pool and theater area. My children loved this place. If your lucky you will see monkey & honey...

We stayed here for two nights. The little houses are of good size. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom (shower en toilet) was good and clean. Sink is in your room itself. the refrigerator for your drinks, breakfast, meats and salads (braai) is outside on the patioarea of your little house. Every house has got its own braai spot. The Restcamp is...

The houses are clean and spacious , nothing fancy. Satara is still the best camp in Kruger for location and has far less irritating crowds than in the South. Remains the most productive Game viewing area.

Big camp for a basic accommodation inside Kruger park, clean apartment houses organized in circles, only single beds put together as doubles, nice private fire place to cater yourself if needed. Good shopping possibilities on site, family friendly, also pool area, also suitable for groups, good value, nothing fancy.

We enjoyed our stay here. This area if Kruger national park had great animal viewing. We took two sunset tours from here and were lucky enough to see hyenas and leopard. The rest camp area is nice and mugg and beans restaurant is good place to get some food and relax. Our rooms were sufficient. They aren't high end or...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Satara is a busy camp, and not without reason. It is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. The camp itself has a rustic charm, with the bulk of the accommodation set out in a series of circles. Satara is well wooded and the bird-life is prolific. At night the clink of fruit bats is fused with the chirping of cicadas and crickets. The calls of owls and nightjars add to the symphony that is punctuated intermittently by the whoop of hyena, the screech of jackal and the roars of lion. ... more   less
