Camp Shawu is a collection of five luxury tents so situated to afford and unparalleled view of the small lake that fronts the property. The tents are comfortable and nicely appointed. There is a private deck where you can spend hours viewing the endless parade of animals that come there to drink. Herds of elephants, cape buffalo, zebra, impala, wildebeats...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 days/2 nights and everything was amazing. The food was all delicious and plentiful (seriously, so much food!) They happily accommodated my request for gluten free meals. The huts are spacious with a wonderful view, with tons of animals right at your doorstep (the hippos are loud at night but you get used...

We stayed at Camp Shawu March 11th and 12th th after our stay at Rhino Safaris Plains Camp was cancelled due to damage at the tented camp. Our family was lucky enough to be relocated to this camp. The food and lodging might be better elsewhere, but the service and game viewing is unbeatable. The setting is magical with permanent...

We spent 2 nights here on the 9th of March 2017, The setting is hard to beat, the Mpanamana dam full of Hippo, just to beautiful for words. We stayed in the first room, it was filthy dirty, The mosquito net was dirty and dusty, all the tent flaps had mould on them, every time we opened them someone came...

I stayed in Camp Shawu with my boyfriend for two nights in February. It was our first safari experience, and it was the best experience I have ever had in my life! It was a paradise on earth! So peaceful and romantic! The food was great, especially considering we were in the middle of national park. All stuff members were...

This Camp is part of the Shishangeni concession inside the Kruger National Park. Our driver dropped us initially to the main hotel and one of their drivers transported us to the camp. Camp Shawu caters for approx 8 guests and the front of the rooms looks out onto a dam. The rooms have solid walls on 3 sides and the...

What a great place to be, it is our favorite camp in the Kruger. The lake in front of your tent shows you all the time different game. The tents needs some redone, but they promised that this is on their to-do-list. We hope so because we loved to come back. Our ranger Clive was the best ranger we ever...

We stayed at Camp Shawu for three days in August and had an amazing time! It was an amazing combination of luxury and adventure. The main building at Camp Shawu had burned down earlier in the spring and we were offered a room at Shishangani instead if we wanted it. We decided to go ahead and stay at Shawu anyway...

We had a truly memorable stay at Camp Shawu. All the staff from the Camp Manager, Daniel, the Chef Orrell and the staff who cleaned and waited on table were extremely friendly and efficient. They ensured that our stay was very comfortable. The food prepared by the Orrell was truly memorable. No stay in such a camp would be complete...

This was the first safari stop for our group of eight traveling with John Cooper of African Adventures Safari Company. He could not have picked a better spot for our start. We were spoiled by our accommodations, the food, the people, and the animals who put on continuous displays at the water hole viewed from our cottages. A special thanks...
