Always one of my favourite camps in Kruger. Whoever was in charge of positioning the fridge in our unit didn't give it much thought. In all the other camps the fridge is outside behind a security gate to prevent baboons to get to it. Here however they just plonked the fridge mid room. Seriously? Time for a renovation too, its...

The camp has a good location for tours into the surrounding area. The premises are well mantainded but the accomodation could be improved. The camp offers all kind of services. An view point to the Olifants river is available.

We stayed in Nshawu guest cottage. This is a four bedroom unit with a private deck overlooking the river. I have been in SA for 30 years and have visited many spectacular spots - Lekkerwater in De Hoop, the cottages at Tendele in the Drakensburg come to mind. But this guest cottage in Kruger is up their with the best....

The visited the Olifants Camp 1974. Not much has changed. The Restaurant is now run by a one of the Big south african chains. She same chain runs the restaurants in: Letaba Camp, Satara Camp and Lower Sabie. That means if your route follows these Camps (north - south) you have the same boring choice!! We booked an early morning...

This is a well maintained camp, and most things work. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, the accommodation, whilst being clean, the fittings and linen are tired. Accommodation is basic. A place to rest, and sitting on the balcony of your bungalow watching the game come down to the river to drink is relaxing. The drives in the area...

I have been going to Olifants for decades. Whilst the setting remains as beautiful as ever, I have noticed a considerable deterioration in the facilities. We took three villas - three out of three fridges and two out of three air conditioners did not work. Furthermore, there was a terrible sewerage smell coming out of one of the villas. The...

Considering the price, it's a decent choice for a lodge in the Kruger. Ok, the rooms are a bit lacking as the bedsheets were grey from years of use and the general feel was a bit like a slightly ramshackle hut. But it did provide a relatively good night's rest and we were able to park our SUV right beside...

Yes, this camp has amazing views of the river where you can see Elephants and different species of birds but the units are poorly maintained! We stated in the 4 bedroom family unit and my sister in-laws air-conditioning wasn't working. She asked if someone could fix it but no one even bothered to attend to the issue during our 2night...

The bungalows there are great. Clean and nice. I cannot recommend to do the morning and river walks. However the accommodation was really good value for money for 60€ per night. Best stay in Kruger for us. We stayed in three more camps.

Helpful and kind staff. They send intros and all the important details needed via email a day before arrival. The front desk staff was amazing! They helped setup all our morning and night walks and drives for the remainder of our trip.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guests that visit Olifants will be exposed to an unforgettable window of Africa. The camp is situated a top a hill which towers several hundred feet over the Olifants river. Views from the lookout platforms allow one to see the river below, just as a soaring eagle would survey it, as it hunts from the skies. ... more   less
