Decided to stay here because my first choice hotel in Polokwane was fully booked. Initially I was quite impressed: Friendly & efficient staff on check in, freshly painted buildings and well kept gardens. Then... dirty carpets in the hall way passage and clinical porcelain tiled rooms🤮. What really anoid me is when I attempted to find the bar for a well earned beer after a day of toil, just to be told "No alcohol, we are halaal! " There is neither mention of this on the website, nor a notice at check in.. At breakfast when asking for coffee, your choices are, instant brew or pay an additional R25 for pure grounds. Won't go back..
We booked a deluxe room for two adults and two kids under 16. We were informed that breakfast was included. On arrival however we were told that breakfast was only included for the adults and we would have to pay additional costs for the kids. Would advise patrons to confirm all costs before booking.
What a disappointment with rooms that so noisy, close to the road or very busy parking area. I did not feel safe at all as no real security to property or hotels. The breakfast was so disappointing, with no proper coffee and plastic cutlery. Never again.
I was in Polokwane on a business trip and stayed in the four star suite hotel, the room overlooked clean and tidy. The maids ensured my room was immaculate daily basis and the reception and the staff was extremely helpful and i enjoyed the meal on the daily breakfast as it had buffet breakfast. The room was very comfortable in every way with everything. I will certainly be staying there again at Polokwane Royal hotel.
Security was not at the front of my mind when I booked a room but I felt uncomfortable at being given a ground floor room and wished I'd raised this issue at the check-in. The check-in itself was smooth and efficient. The car park is large and handy. The room was clean and setting up the Wifi was a doddle however ... the walls are thin and flimsy and I had the misfortune to be given a room next to the noisiest hotel guests ever. I'm not sure what they were celebrating but they may as well have been in my room because they parties, and partied all night long. I had to be up at 5am for an early start and was concerned I would sleep in - no such problem as the noisy guests continued with their merry-making right through to the morning. OK, so it's not the hotel's fault entirely and I didn't ring the desk to complain but the walls are thin and even my friends, on the opposite side of the corridor, were disturbed by this noisy party. If you're staying ask for a quiet room. I'm not sure if they've got one but it's worth a try. I will not be returning to this particular place again although I do hope to go to Polokwane which is a fab town.…
