We stayed two nights at this place to enter Kruger Park. The owner is very friendly. The rooms are very well maintained. A lot of thought is given on room decoration and the garden. the view outside of your room is exellent. The food served is well done. We would have given this place an absolute A, if the roads...

Nice location, with plenty of activities to do. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and the possibility to dine at the Lodge (first evening with excellent trout, second evening unfortunately with a totally messed up oystrich steak, but prices for dinner are very reasonable for European standards). We booked an early morning game drive via the lodge and were picked up...

We stayed over at Chestnut Country Lodge for two nights. We had an amazing stay with Christine, her lovely dogs and of course her staff. The lodge is located in a beautiful place and has an absolute amazing view. The most important is the kindness, enthusiasm and the way the guests are welcomed and treated during their stay. We would...

This place is breathtakingly beautiful. The rooms and service are just as beautiful as the staff! Just for a little Texas fun and inside information, Gwynn is very jumpy. Hide around the corner and whisper BOO!

We stayed here for 2 nights with a large sporting group and greatly enjoyed our stay. The well kept grounds, including a pleasant pool area have lovely views over the surrounding area. We were lucky to score room 6 which was very large and comfortable, and one of the nicest ones available. Some of the other rooms were small in...

We have stayed at Chestnut on several occasions over the last 15 years, and never have been dissapointed. Still amazed by the view. Moving the pool down to the valley was a good idea, as breakfast can be served outside on the larger terras now, which is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The set dinner menu is varied and...

The location of Chestnut Country Lodge is hard to beat, if views and quiet are your priorities. The dirt road to access the lodge, although fine in a 4x4, is probably hard work without one when going downhill, particularly in the wet, less so uphill. Once you hit the tar road, you are very close to Hazyview, the KNP and...
