We only stayed here for 1 night, but spent the whole time telling each other we wished we had stayed longer. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the cabin we stayed in was spacious and very comfortable. Great bed!

We stayed at Ashbourne for three nights in November 2017. We had the Balcony room, which is huge and lovely decorated. Generally, the whole estate has been lovely decorated, everything works well together and you feel at home and at ease the minute you arrive...More
We loved our stay at Ashbourne - our family of four stayed in the family cottage and added breakfast to our stay. A wonderful breakfast! It is also obvious that someone (Dawne) used to work as an interior designer - the cottage and the main...More
We stayed for only one night (very unfortunate!) in the family cottage. Great decoration and furniture, the interior and terrace are really thoughtfully constructed. Great location.

SimonRHalifax hit the nail on the head. I would add that the Lowveld offers more than just Kruger (which gets a bit boring after the 1000th or so rooibok). Checking with Rob or Dawne at Ashbourne is a good idea. There are many unexplored / unheralded but interesting things to do and see besides animals. Go wild yourself with the ability to change plans, so drive yourself after you've learnt to avoid the potholes.
