When our agent mentioned about this Lodge, my wife and I had kept the expectations low and basic but it turned out to be quite fancy, well maintained, with pool facility, good restaurants and some very friendly and helpful staff. Since we're on our honeymoon, they also decorated our room with flowers, provided sufficient vegetarian options that we requested for...

In December 2016, we went through to Hippo Hollow for dinner. This was the first time I visited the restaurant. We had a very warm welcome by the staff and were seated right next to the river. It was a warm evening and so, we were quite comfortable. I would highly recommend ordering a cocktail as it was one of...

Hippo Hollow is a beautiful property near an entrance to Kruger National Park. Accommodations were quite roomy with tall ceilings in buildings with thatched roofs. They reminded me of villages in the Cotswolds in England. As part of a tour group, the hotel, processed our rooms quickly, so we could begin enjoying the grounds. Before dinner, we were treated to...

We stayed here at Hippo Hollow for 2 nights. We were underwhelmed by our experience to be honest. We found the food in the restaurant very disappointing, especially the calamari and the vegetarian options. We were also surprised to find the pool area untidy with grass strimmings all over the patio, pool loungers and tables, no obvious place to get...

Stayed here for just one night but it was great. Nice rooms, nice food and friendly staff. Added bonus was the hippos at night around dinner time😀 Rooms were clean and the bar area was lovely, had two swimming pools.

Our group stayed at Hippo Hollow for two short nights. The rooms had a "mini" air conditioning unit in each, and the beds were clean and comfortable. Hint: Turn the AC on low and grab the duvet found in the closet for a snuggy night's sleep. I happened to have a room that overlooked the river and was treated to...

We booked two River Chalets and were presently surprised by roomy loft cottages with four beds per room, which were sufficient for our family of 6 on this trip. The view from the chalet was facing the local river where hippos swim past in the evenings and a great moonlight view. Sleeping on the loft level was a unique experience...
