Nice location, nice staff, many useful information about the area, excellent accomodation e good price. We have been there only for 3 days but we experienced a total wellness. The natural reserve is not far and all the main services are close to the place.

Everything is good. The flats are well equipped and well maintained. Hosts were pleasant, Wifi worked and the gardens were lovely. Hippos wander about the town and the garden but we didn't see one in the garden.

We were four adults renting two units. Both had clearly not been thoroughly cleaned for a long time; they were swept and tidied but the bathroom mats and lounge rugs were disgusting, as were the insides of the cupboards. The bedrooms were cramped, and the wardrobes were badly done DIY. Several kitchen appliances were filthy and not working, or not...

We really enjoyed our stay at St Lucia Wilds a lot - the staff were very friendly at all times, the service of the unit was very good and efficient. The location with regards to our planning of the holiday was also exactly what we expected.

Accommodation was comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Reception was very helpful and efficient. There is access to the estuary from the property and the swimming pool and surrounds are great for a hot day. Will certainly go back

St Lucia Wilds lodge is located at the end of McKenzie Street, close to the access road to the Estuary beach. Accomodation is comfortable and clean. There is private parking available. The lodge has a garden (with swimming pool) looking over the Lake St. Lucia Estuary and sunset from there is really nice.

We thank you for your review. The sunsets are beautiful over the reeded lake and we appreciate the fact that you mentioned the location and garden.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Well located in beautiful setting. The pool has a hippo gate to allow the hippos to access it. (Otherwise they just walk through any fencing when wander past) I wish we'd been able to stay for longer.

Lovely location a few hundred metres from the "centre" of St Lucia next to the river/estuary and some forest remnants. Nice garden, pool, spacious and fully equipped apartment, clean. Very friendly and helpful hosts (e.g. helped in making a last minute booking for a hipo cruise). Considering the quality of the appartments a very decent price! Excellent for families too!...

We stayed 5days with our two kids and we liked the place very much especially the location near the natural trail. We actually saw two hippos walking directly in front of the lodge towards the trail. Great experience!

We thank you for the review. It is great when children also like nature especially when they can see the animals use the same trails! We never get tired of seeing hippos.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The small coastal town St Lucia is uniquely situated inside a World Heritage Site, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, which makes it an ideal base to experience our unspoilt natural heritage in one of the oldest, most diverse reserves in the world. Watch the sun rise over the sea and set over the lake in one day. Experience a game drive, snorkel/swim in the sea, birding, fishing, a boat trip on the lake and short walking trails in a nature reserve from here or just relax and enjoy the sunshine, clean air and tropical forest smells and sounds. We are located in the main street away from the busy noisy town centre, still within walking distance to shops etc. Units are set in a natural tranquil garden on the bank of the St Lucia Lake. All units have access to the garden on lake side via a communal path through the premises. Units have no view of the lake. You can enjoy the scattered front garden view of the lake/reeds, relax on a lounger chair under the trees or cool down in the swimming pool. We provide lots of information and map of this area. The garden is visited by resident wildlife and we share our living space with all creatures. We try to maintain a healthy food chain by using environmentally friendly products. We offer self-catering holiday accommodation, with owner family living on property. We have 3 joined garden units with each little garden separated by plants. 1 Affordable (budget type) flatlet with steps. Units are standard, comfortable, no-nonsense, very well equipped, clean and neat. You will feel at home. All opening windows and doors have insect netting protection. Parking is under roof cover on site at car port. Children: we offer a tree house with slide and toys for small children. Swimming pool with fence but not child proof. Children must be supervised at all times. We provide all bedding and linen, 1 bath towel pp, toilet paper, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, pots and pans, dish towel, cloth and sponge and dish wash soap. Cleaning service included, once daily in the mornings. ... more   less
