Had a four night stay at the start of our vacation in South Africa. The hotel is opposite the Camps Bay beach, which we thought was a very nice large clean beach, it is across a main road but dead opposite the bus stop where you can catch both a tourist bus or a local bus for central Cape Town...

Travelling here today from the Hilton, Durban, I read a lot of negative reviews. So I was pleased to find the opposite. A fresh looking contemporary hotel, obviously recently refurbished. A motorbike theme runs through the hotel although it's a Lotus sat outside. There are some classic bikes dotted around. Staff are pleasant and courteous from the front gate staff...

Decent hotel, staff are very friendly and the location has a great view of the ocean and Table Mountain. Main pool and the two other pools are all heated, nice gym, sauna & steam room. Go quickly though Camps Bay is starting to turn into a Benidorm !!!!

A tired property. Somewhat pretentious. Could be amazing. Management are totally lacking and invisible. The effect is clear as staff, however personally capable and pleasant, are clearly under trained and totally unsupervised. In the case, for example, of the breakfast room, they make Faulty Towers look like the A team. Some wonderful aspects, unbeatable location, but a tired, fun, potentially...

Good day ErrolFarnham I am distressed that you feel that management is invisible as my team and I spend a significant amount of time amongst the guests. Training and upgrading of services are always ongoing and I assure you that we are currently paying special attention to the breakfast service. I am sure when you next visit us you will...

Great location right on the beach with two lovely pools. Very nice bar call traders with a brilliant bar man called Camilo who was very friendly and looked after us. Major disappointment is that at breakfast they have a tipping jar which at breakfast table which is annoying as you have to carry change with you, also charging for nespresso...

Good Day Alan D You are right that our location is spectacular. Traders will soon be renamed Cameels after our barman, for all the years he has been there. Oddly enough many people find the tip tin a cute little touch, but it is an acquired taste. While we supply coffee and tea for use, the Nespresso forms part of...

My wife and I spent 4 nights at The Bay Hotel and really were impressed. We had a mountain view bedroom to see the ever changing colours of Table Mountain. The beach front views were also spectacular. Good service, lovely spacious, well appointed bedroom. We ate in the Bistro which was fine.Good breakfasts. Our only negative observation was the shower...

Good day StAlbansExplorer Thank you so much for your kind words, its true that every sunset offers a different hue to the beautiful mountains and the beach in the mornings is absolutely gorgeous. Best possible location Great sundeck Sundowners! Private parking But... Much staff lacks care and possibly supervision and training - apart for doormen and parking, who are amazing, while the breakfast team appears rather disorganized Room a little dark, bathroom slightly outdated Free wifi - limited to 250mb/day - a joke in 2016 ! Hotel could be really great, but the...

The hotel was absolutely beautiful with friendly staff and a great location, however, my room experience was not the best. I was booked in for 2 weeks for a work conference and was placed near the breakfast room, public toilets & the upstairs bar (to the left of my room) and the public walkway (to the right of my room)....

Good Day akkeates I would love for you to contact me directly regarding the room as I cannot tell the room number from your comments. There are no offices located near the bistro kitchen, nor would there be plates. I would truly like to narrow these locales down so that I may properly investigate and instruct our teams near the...

For the cost, you expect something a bit special to feel as if you are giving yourself a real treat. On the positive side, the rooms are spacious - we had a mountain view at the back of the hotel - and most of the staff are friendly.
