We had our dream wedding at The Twelve Apostles. Sally Sharp was incredible and the rest of the staff were wonderful. Our big day was perfect, the food and venue was five star. The hotel made us feel so special and the staff were so accommodating.

Hotel's Favourite
Nestled perfectly on the coast of the beautiful Camps Bay area with the backdrop of the 12 Apostle Mountains. Every detail of this amazing property is spot on. We stayed four nights (wish we had a few more days). The 12 Apostles was our home base for visiting the Cape Town area and peninsula, the location was a perfect home base for hiking and relaxing, away from the business of the city, but close enough to easily visit all of the cape attractions. We loved the complimentary shuttle service making it easy to visit VA Waterfront and Camps Bay, but more notably Luyanda made these short rides informative and fun. He truly went above and beyond. As did the entire staff, notably Jason the manager, Aiden in the front office, Laura in reservations noted every detail prior to our stay, the Leopards Lounge manager and staff as well. Our room was absolutely perfect and comfortable, the food was fabulous and we enjoyed the beautiful coastal views from the dining, bar and pool area. Just perfection from every angle!

Really comfortable slightly old world hotel with brilliant staff and great views. the hotel has been added to over the years but still retains great charm and has great walks both along the beach area and behind the hotel up into the hills. God food and a lively bar.

We had high hopes for 12A but were left very disappointed in our stay. Upon checking in at 14:15 our room still wasn't ready and we went to lunch while we waited. We couldn't get a table at the restaurant and had to go to the bar only to be seated outside without any shade. We waited almost two hours for our food only to receive it with cold chips. Waiter didn't offer any explanation only returned with a warm plate a couple of minutes later. Couldn't find him after that and had to eventually pay our bill at the counter as no one could get hold of him. Had to go down to reception for our rooms keys after being promised it would be brought to our table. Our luggage was still standing in front of the main door at reception and wasn't taken to our rooms. After going to our rooms we had to get housekeeping to vacuum the carpets as their was still food crumbs and feathers lying on the floor. Rooms were basically clean but nothing special in terms of going the extra mile and what you'd expect from a 5* hotel. Next morning we again had to be seated outside in the sun for breakfast as no tables were available inside, only to be welcomed by a dirty floor wobbly table and dirty cutlery and cereal bowls. Insisted to speak to the manager and after waiting 30min went down to reception to sort out the problem myself. After a lengthy discussion with Helani the GM we were offered the Presidential Suite for the duration of our stay but we declined. They also helped us to search for alternative accommodation but to no avail. We spent the rest of the day at the pool only to wait more than 30min for an umbrella and menu. Waited even longer to get drinks, I suppose it's better that the couple behind us that waited more than 2 hours for their umbrella, at 4 o'clock their room still wasn't cleaned and ready. Down in reception whilst checking out 2 more couples were also complaining about rooms and service received so we knew we weren't the only one's. Having stayed in their sister hotel The Oyster Box a couple of times we had high hopes for 12A but were left very disappointed with what we received, to be honest a really don't understand the whole hype around the hotel apart from their location/view and name in the market. Nothing you'd expect from a 5 * hotel situated in Cape Town. I guess if you are looking for that social media post this is the place to be. Hotel is showing signs of wear and staff is just going through the motions. No special care is taken and we wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have something like The Oyster Box in mind.
