My wife and I recently spent three nights before a tour and one after at Philips's delightful guesthouse. It was superb. Philip is very friendly and helpful, full of suggestions and happy to chat. He booked trips for us and advised on others. Eunice, his right hand woman is very good at breakfasts and keeping the house sparkling but don't...

Beautiful place to be. Quiet but central location. Waterfront reachable within 15 minutes walk. All rooms are large and have a personalized interior. Home and garden with plenty of lovingly selected decoration. Philipp, the owner, is very helpful and has many suggestions for tours and going out. We spent 4 nights there and felt at home. Highly recommended.

Recently stayed at the Romney for our last two nights in Cape Town in September (2 couples total). We were greeted by the owner Phillip's adorable dachshunds and Phillip himself, who was very friendly. The B&B is gorgeously and tastefully decorated with Phillip's eclectic style. He is quite the collector and the Romney is filled with interesting pieces from the...

I've stayed at Romney Lodge a number of times, each one especially memorable for the thoughtfulness of its raconteur/owner, Phillip King; its perfect location in the center of Green Point, within an easy (and safe) walk of all the great shops and restaurants. The rooms are all beautifully done up in African Colonial style, luxury bedding, WiFi, and an awesome...

Me and four other students stayed at the lodge for four days, we were greeted with a smile and immediately felt at home. Not only is the staff friendly and welcoming, but Philip is a wonderful host. I had a great time staying there and would advise anyone to go and stay there. It is an amazing place and it...

Was there 26-29April 2012 with my friends we were 12 in total. We had so much fun. Phillip is a great, friendly host. His staff-amazing, we loved the meals. I would recommend it to other friends, word of advise tho; the lady who preps the meals should not preach/judge young people n their activities. People come there to have fun...

It is a 20+ minute walk to the VA Waterfront and about 10 minute walk to the edge of Sea Point commercial and ocean front promenade area. To get to the beach area of Sea Point is also about 20+ minute walk. Granted I am not an unusual fast or slow walker, so believe it is a realistic time frame...

Our family, parents and two grown up children stayed one week at the lodge. The reservation was made by a travel agent in Finland specialized for South African travels. We got along perfectly, the choice could not have been better! Good location, stylish and cozy interior but above all hospitality of the host and his crew was something we rarely...
