We found this lodge based on reviews of budget accommodations around Cape Town and stayed for 4 nights. The room we were allocated to was unavailable (due to some construction next to it) and the management took the initiative to relocate us to the guest house next door - Leeuwenvoet Guest House (apparently a more expensive) , and only had...

We stayed here 5 nights and had a wonderful time. We could not have been happier with the accommodations. The service was wonderful. Breakfast was available every morning and the proprietors of the home were more than happy to help with lots of arrangements in and around the Cape Town area. If heading to Capetown be sure to book this...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay the families I was around were lovely (as well as my own of course), as well as the accommodation, The only Flaw was not realising how good it was, as I would have booked much longer, I would recommend you don't make the same mistake

Very clean and well decorated hostel in a nice area of Cape Town. They offered a light breakfast, and a few nice living areas to lounge in. Definitely great for families or someone looking for a quiet place to stay. If you're looking to meet people and socialize, I'd recommend going somewhere else though.

Quaint and quiet and well positioned to Cape's trendy bars and restaurants. Mattresses too thin, so not completely comfortable, showers very low pressure. Generally clean, full DSTV bouquet and basic breakfast served. Stand alone PC with Internet and WIFI - Small, but one of the better ones! Well done!

I spent a few nights in a dorm at Amber Tree. The room was lovely, cosy and clean. The facilities provided were very good, the wifi worked really well and the provided breakfast was good. The staff were really friendly and helpful! The location was nice and quiet, and only a fairly short walk to the centre of town. I...

Really nice hostel, perfectly located, only 5 mins walk to Long Street. But still it is in a quiet neighborhood. The view from balcony to Table Mountain is wonderful! Also the Hosts are really nice and caring!

Great location relative to Long Street, Table Mountain, and Lion's Head a little far from the water though but not an expensive Uber ride away. Nice bed and breakfast feel and decent, helpful staff. Would recommend to a friend.

This place on the map - and no prior knowledge of Cape Town - looks slightly out of the way. It's not. It's actually in a very good area for visitors, with a little clutch of restaurants, bars, shops, and a launderette just around the corner, and a very trendy street full of great bars, shops, food options on the...

Amber Tree Lodge sits in a great position above Long Street. Very handy for all the best bars & eateries in Cape Town. The atmosphere here is very good with a lovely lounge area and upstairs balcony. The rooms are not that big and the lack of a/c does make it a bit hot especially when the sun streams in...

“Good double room out the back. Not bad twin upstairs. The 6 bed dorm at front on left, is a little cramped although the beds are good”

“The twin room with courtyard view is nice and quiet, opens onto the tranquil courtyard and the living room is just on the other side. It is en suite as well - nice clean bathroom with shower.”

“The 6 bed dorm at the front can be a little noisy with people leaving nearby restaurants after dinner & the church across the road rings their bell quite early! But it really wasn't an issue!”
