Underberg is a really good place to spend the night: convenient, beautifully furnished and with a comfortable lounge to relax in when sleep does not come that readily - and the breakfast the next morning is first class. An added bonus is the direct involvement of the friendly and flexible owners'.

We took a chance with our first ever guest house visit and have to say that even after reading many reviews, the guest house really surpassed our expectations. Bruce and Anne were lovely hosts, Bruce me us every morning and evening and was a very personable host, making sure he got to know us and recommended great places to go...

Based on the recommendation of our travel agent, we spent nearly a week at the Underberg while touring the Cape Town area. We were totally pleased. The room was comfortable and well appointed (as was the rest of the house); the breakfast scrumptious. Anne was away, but Bruce was more than capable of making us feel as welcomed as possible...

This is a great guest house, beautiful conserved and decorated. The owner, Bruce, makes you feel at home. This is a guest house, so, no front desk, but it is not necessary, everything is under control. And in case needed, you can call the owner. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Breakfast is great and service very helpful and nice. There...

I fell in love with Cape Town and believe our stay here had a lot to do with it. Bruce, the host, is personable and helpful. He arranged two day trips which were highlights of our month in Africa. The breakfast was fresh, delicious and cooked to order omelets spoiled us. I want to make a habit of staying here,...

We stayed 5 nights and it was wonderful! Clean, modern and very comfortable rooms. Also very quiet, and were able to get a great night's sleep each night. A beautiful house with a lovely bar area, common sitting room, etc. It was a nice and relaxing place to return to each evening. Great breakfast. Fantastic location - beautiful, more residential...

Underberg House was a lovely choice for us to spend a few days visiting our daughter in Cape Town. The room was very pleasant, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was great, with a wonderful fresh fruit salad amongst the choice available. Coffee was also good. Our daughter was invited to join us for breakfast even though she wasn't staying with us...

Bruce and his staff are unmatched in attention to detail and quality of service and making one feel at home. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms spacious. The breakfast is healthy with many customized options including many choices for vegetarians. The flair of the Victorian-Colonial style house was not just on the outside. We were allowed to use the...
