Never have I felt more pampered. Super helpful, welcoming staff very friendly. The room was excellent, although the balcony was tiny it provided a beautiful view. Many odd noises made this place seem more charming than in disrepair. It was off-season when we stayed, so everyone was absolutely at our beck and call. Room service certainly left quite a bit...

Thank you so much for your lovely review about our staff, the rooms, the beautiful views and our fabulous location. We apologise that the burger was not up to standard and have informed our kitchen and in-room dining service.

My daughter had a Gift Voucher delivered to me for Mother's Day - what a wonderful surprise! I have always wanted to go for High Tea at the Mount Nelson. The voucher was for 2 - so, as it was celebrating Mother's Day, taking my ex-husband's wife, my daughter's stepmom was the obvious choice. From the minute we arrived we...

The afternoon tea was served by a most dedicated member of staff who responded to our need for quick service as we were on our way to the airport. It was a mistake on our part to try to fit it in because the pleasure was thwarted somewhat by the clock ticking against us. The selection of food served to...

We stayed for 2 nights in March 2015 as part of a 34 night itinerary, so this review is reasonably objective. Understated luxury and service in a wonderful old lady of a hotel that has been sympathetically upgraded. Some of the wood paneling in the public areas I remember from previous visits has been updated with very 'Provencal' colours, which...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review, detailing all the aspects of the hotel that you appreciated so much, from the updated decor, the efficiency and helpfulness of the front of house staff, and your large room with (we agree!) the best beds and linen. We do look forward to seeing you again next UK...

Stayed for four nights. Can't fault it, this is a true 5 star hotel with all the bells and whistles required, but they don't make too much fuss of it. You don't have to pretend when you are the best. Will return.

What can I say - the best afternoon tea ever!!! We did not stay here but went for a treat. Afternoon tea is generally a three tier cake stand with all the goodies on it - not here!! You are served your tea and champagne (if you have ordered it) at table either inside the hotel or outside on the...

Luxury heritage; many grand hotels of yesteryear are faded and living off former glories. Not the Mount Nelson, which from our experiences could possibly be pushing hard to surpass its foremost glory days. True hospitality by all hotel staff and availability of every amenity to be expected of a world-class 5 star hotel, were key highlights to note. A highly...

This is truly a classy hotel. In fact it doesn't feel like a hotel at all - not if you stay at the cottages. The hotel has a remarkable spa facility and now let's get to the humungous beds. Super comfortable and truly classy surroundings. Food: dining at the Planet restaurant is 5-star. The menu is thought out well with...

So pleased you noticed our "humungous" beds - they are indeed 2x2m and more than king size. We are also delighted that you loved Librisa Spa, dinner in Planet Restaurant and your walk across the road into the historical Company's Gardens.

This is a colonial style building just off Orange and Kloof Streets set below table mountain and just above the company gardens. It's a great location as you can see the mountain from the gardens and the pool area and access the downtown area from the Orange St entrance through the gardens. The bars and restaurants of Kloof Street are...
