This small hotel in central Cape Town was an absolute joy to stay in. What a pleasant change to stay in a hotel with character, backed up by the friendly & efficient staff. A real family feeling. Facilities were excellent - the only drawback (not serious) was an old fashioned, tiny tv in our room. However, we noted other rooms...

This gem is both. Nesstled at the edge of the CBD in Cape Town, it is very well situated to get you quickly to Table Mountain, the Waterfront, and the southern Cape. Easy access to V&A Waterfront for a tour to Robbens Island and great shopping and dining. The rooms were very nice and quiet. Breakfasts were cooked to order....

We arrived by train from Johannesburg and were met with a very friendly welcome at this centrally located hotel. The old grapevine still producing after a couple of hundred years provides the ambience of old Cape Town. The hotel furnishings are clean, elegant and classic in design. With a central location to allow an easy walking tour of the downtown...

The hotel was very comfortable and we loved the colonial feel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to the Waterfront and easily caught the City Sightseeing Bus. Part of the courtyard does not belong to the hotel and it would have been nice to know that before we plonked ourselves down and asked for tea,...

My husband and I stayed three nights here in the suite and the place is lovely. It's truly more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel, but none the less charming. Breakfast every day was good, the room was comfortable and spacious, and the service was outstanding. They arranged transportation for us and helped with anything we asked. The...

The history of this hotel is interesting not 100% if I'd go back again as it was average and we were expecting a little more than that. Our room was on the courtyard side which we thought would be quieter than the street side however it was very noisy with music from the bar below until after midnight. Overall average

Fascinating building dating from around 1770. Many quirks of angle and elevation make every corridor and room different. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and well furnished. Some had balconies overlooking the atrium which was unique in my experience. If I return to Cape Town I would not consider staying anywhere else.

Great Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful room and comfortable bed. Great restaurants to choose from all very close by. Only problem no parking at Hotel but car park nearby, a number of stairs to climb to get into the Hotel, difficult for elderly guests.
