If you want a big hotel with lots of restaurants and bars then Kensington Place is not for you. It's a gorgeous boutique hotel with attentive staff and lovely rooms. We stayed for four nights and were thrilled to discover dinner had been booked for us in some local restaurants for each night of our stay. We walked to three of them in the Kloof Street area and took a very cheap Uber to the other. Nothing is too much trouble for the Kensington Place staff. Breakfasts are wonderful and available all day. The location is perfect - safe and easy to walk around. The V & A is a short Uber ride away and the open top tourist bus stop is within walking distance. If we ever go to Cape Town again, we will certainly stay at Kensington Place and can't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed at Kensington Place for 4 nights at the start of our honeymoon. It was amazing and totally exceeded our expectations! The staff are all lovely and so thoughtful! They provided so many extra touches - welcome champagne on arrival, some lovely champagne for our room and they even arranged a gin tasting for us. It was wonderful! Breakfast was delicious and the best we had in South Africa. The rooms are lush, with the comfiest beds ever - and it’s a great, safe location. I was worried about safety in Cape Town but felt safe here - we took Ubers when going out at nighttime which was really easy to arrange. We would like to return!

This small hotel was great to stay in for our time in Cape Town. Our room was stunning with 2 balconies one looking towards table mountain and other over Cape Town. It even had a yoga mat. The staff were immensely helpful arranging restaurant reservations and providing useful information. The hotel is a short stroll from kloof st with restaurants shops and bars. The hotel has a superb lounge and lots of private areas to sit outside as well as a pool. Ubers are a cheap and efficient way of getting around. Nearly forget the breakfast is delicious.

My wife and I were visiting Cape Town as part of a larger trip across South Africa, Kensington Place was our stopover for 4 nights- we wish we could have stayed longer! The service from the start was impeccable, some of the best we have experienced when travelling. The little touches- booking restaurants for us, breakfast available all thoughout the day anytime, every staff member remembered our name; the list is endless! Great breakfast too, highly recommend the eggs benedict South African style! Great location too for Cape Town, around 45mins walk to V&A waterfront, loads of little bars and restaurants a short walk away (5 - 10 mins). Size of the room was lovely, a little seating area with a very large bed, very clean and a nice patio / balcony area too. Top boutique

We spent a lovely three nights at Kensington Place in October. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The common areas are welcoming and we particularly enjoyed sitting on the terrace in the afternoon for drinks overlooking the gardens. The staff were all warm and accommodating. For us the biggest standout was the breakfasts. Wow! All the options were delicious (we tried many of them). The juices are a must have - try them!! Visitors should be aware that some of the steps in the common areas, including steps to reception, do not have railings which may make it difficult to maneuver. One of the rooms (not where I stayed) requires climbing stairs with no railing to access the bathroom. This would be a concern for me as a middle of the night trip to the bathroom could result in

From the moment you arrive until the time you leave, you will be spoiled rotten! Welcome champagne and nice chat with all the ins and outs of the area, and then to the room. We had the luxury room with the amazing balcony with beds and stunning view. Great bed with a choice of pillows and the softest linen ever. Breakfast is only a la carte but again outstanding. Everything fresh and healthy with such great flavours and textures. Everything is sorted for you, pre reserved restaurants, if you even think Table Mountain your ticket is printed so no ques for you! Can not recommend this place enough.

Lovely design forward hotel, good breakfast, pretty and quiet neighbourhood. We had a great walk down the hill into the city and back. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a large balcony and lovely views. Large bathroom with separate tub and shower, although we didn't use the tub due to ongoing water shortage issues in Capetown. I will just mention that it was accessed by climbing quite a lot of outdoor stairs so if you have issues with stairs room 8 may not be for you.

Tucked away at just under Table Mountain and off kloof Street, Kensington place is an oasis of luxury period.the boutique rooms are ultra-modern and offer every comfort. That's a very comfortable karma rooms are extremely quiet with views overlooking the water and Table Mountain and often a small balcony. Breakfasts were homemade and prepared with quality ingredients. Especially appreciated the helpfulness of some of the stuff that we met including Negoni and Gillian. We were able to walk to several excellent restaurants on our first and last evening just down the street and that made it very convenient. Highly recommend.

Wonderful stay for 5 nights at Kensington Place. Welcome drink on arrival with explanation of where to go and what to do in Cape Town. We were staying just around the corner of the main hotel in a huge modern studio with small kitchenette. We had a snack lunch on the terrace which overlooked the city of Cape Town with a view of Table Mountain. Breakfast was plentiful and we particularly enjoyed the birchers muesli. The hotel had booked restaurants for us, but we only went to a couple of nearby ones in Kloof Street. & one night ate in the hotel. It was safe to walk down but they suggested we caught a taxi back. The staff were very attentive and booked Table Mountain for us. We would thoroughly recommend this small friendly boutique hotel.

We stayed at KP about 10 days ago and can't say enough good things. Staff was warm and helpful. Rooms comfortable and very clean. Breakfast yummy. Easy to take Uber pretty much anywhere, so being a bit away from the waterfront/ center was no big deal at all. in fact, we liked the quiet and being in a "real neighborhood" instead of the tourist zone. We would definitely stay here again!
