We really enjoyed our stay at an african villa. The location in relation of thing to do in cape town is excellent. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed our nightly strolls around the neighbourhood trying out the different restaurants. Our absolute favourite being Beleza because pound for pound the food was of a very high quality and much cheaper...

owners Jimmy, louie, cindy, keith were excellent in giving us information about Cape town when & where to visit, where the best value / quality restuarants were. The rooms were well kept and comfortable.Good quality breakfasts. Although it is a guest house it had the feel of a "boutique hotel" . Its position is half way between the water front &...

Many thanks to all four owners of An African Villa and their team for making our stay so enjoyable. Their unflagging (but not intrusive) interest in our wellbeing and valuable advice raised this from being a very clean, stylish and well managed B&B (with comfortable beds, super decor and breakfasts) into being somewhere we hope to return to soon.

We spent six days during the end of December 2009 at An African Villa. Our room was spacious (Gold Room) comfortable and well furnished. The breakfasts were fantastic with a good choice of international and local foods served outside on the terrace near the plunge pool. The whole place was well run, and the staff could not have been more...

An African Villa is a great choice for a stay in Cape Town. The owners are helpful and friendly, the views from the rooms at the back are great and the interior decor is stunning. The area was safe to walk around both day and night and within easy walking distance of lots of good bars and restaurants (ask the...

Friend and my wife and I spent 5 days at this B&B and found it quite comfortable with an excellent and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent especially since we could have outdoors every morning. Great Location and easy access to the highways out of town.

I was so impressed with the attention to detail I recieved at 'An African Villa' Cape Town itself I fell in love with immediately but I couldn't fault and couldn't of picked a better place to stay. It was beautiful in every way.

My wife and I stayed at An African Villa at the beginning of a month long visit to Southern Africa. It was by far the finest accomadations we found in Africa. The villa is two row houses that have been joined by removing a common wall. This made the place very spacious and allowed for ample community areas. The food...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Villa is much more than that! It is in fact three houses which are part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. The double story houses have been joined together and so the inside spaces are much larger than the facade suggests. It's like walking into a TARDIS someone has written on Tripadvisor! There are 12 rooms and the hotel is owner managed.Location is vital when choosing a spot for you vacation and this more than a Villa is within an easy walk of all tourist attractions in the city area. The others (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter there's a sociable dining room and an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts are very careful to offer you as much information as you want and they will arrange car rental, restaurant reservations, tours etc. As required.Free internet on 2 computers in a library area and wireless access is available in all rooms. At night the night porter will set out complimentary sherry and port and at other times there is an honesty bar and guest fridge in the kitchen. Parking is on street and there is no charge (street guards patrol) but you should not need a car from this well placed hotel. ... more   less
