Arrived for the 1st time to Cape Town and SA after a long flight from the US and was pleasantly surprised by Welgelegen! Our tour operator, Rhino Africa, had recommended this bed and breakfast and we were hesitant at staying at such a small property outside of the center of town, however, we were pleasantly surprised from start to finish!...

First visit to Cape Town, and we were lucky enough to be receive the wonderful hospitality of Karen and Fiona. They helped in the planning of our days. Breakfast was simple, yet a thoroughly pleasant experience. Great place to stay, and view Cape Town from. Wonderfully located as well. What ranks the best though, is the admirable work ethic of...

Stayed in a Superior Room for 6 nights while visiting Cape Town. Quiet location. Everybody very friendly and helpful but hotel slightly 'bohemian' and in need of some TLC. Better than 3* 'Average' but not 4* 'Very Good'.

The rooms are spacious, the house is decorated with taste and provides you with various areas to chill out (a library, a salon and an external patio where you can enjoy breakfast or a drink). The breakfasts are just perfect and...

We arrived in Cape Town not really knowing a lot about it, but everyone here welcomed us so warmly it dispelled any fears we had. The breakfasts were really good & the staff lovely. The reception staff were helpful & friendly. We have to return to this fabulous guest house.

We (family of 2 adults and 2 children) have just come to the end of a wonderful 5 nights stay at the start of our SA trip. We couldn't have been be happier; our family room was comfortable and spacious; the breakfasts were delicious (especially the homemade breads and muffins); the house itself gorgeous both inside and out; and the...

Welgelegen Boutique Hotel in Cape Town offers the best possible: quiet, comfortable accommodations on well-kept grounds just a few blocks from one of the city's busiest streets. We spent three nights here upon arrival in Cape Town and used it as our base for a Cape tour, a walking tour of the city's new coffee roasters and artisanal restaurants, and...
