The friendly staff (special thanks to Carlvin) was very helpful in every way. The dorms were great, and location of the backpackers was just perfect. It gave a warm home-feeling instantly, thanks everyone who made my stay the best ever. I stayed two nights longer than planned...

For the price of the hostel and the location you get this really is an ideal place if you aren't planning on spending much time in your room. Admittedly the noise is very loud but if you pay for a hostel on Long Street you aren't really in a position to complain, a bit like jumping into a swimming pool...

i initially booked into blue mountain because i was in desperate need of somewhere to stay - but i fell in love with the staff, the energy of the hostel and all the people i was able to meet, so i ended up staying there for the entirety of my time in cape town. since i travel alone, it is...

The Bluemountain Backpackers is by far the best place to stay in Long Street. It is perfectly placed to give you access to everything Long street has to offer and has fantastic rooms for you to enjoy. With Wi-fi, Kitchen and lounge to match everything else I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good time.

I gave it 4 as beds really comfortable when you can sleep through night time noise! The place is very sparse and clean yet has no homey comfort as in many other hostels in SA. Great place if you want to join in on long street party seen! Ok place for a few days.

They say that the people make the place - and its very true. The backpackers has staff who live and breath the Cape town spirit. With their knowledge they know how to guide you in the right direction at the right time to the most amazing experiences. The hostel itself has all the facilities you need and is located in...

It s got the perfect location right in the middle of long street, it s a great place to party and hang out. The staff is extremely friendly and funny, and the rooms are ok. To anyone who wants to have an awesome time in cape town i can just recommend that place.

We have spent a week in Blue Mountain, paid in advance. The room wasnt very nice, but ok. It could be cleaner tho. We had a room facing bars and night clubs so it was very very noisy at night, the music would only stop around 5am. I usually fall asleep easily so it wasnt such a problem for me...

Staff and place is alright, but it's as loud as a club until 4am. From 7am it's bright daylight in the room. So between 4ish am and 7ish am is the 3h of sleep you can get. Maybe just my room but keep it in mind, would definitely not recommend - plenty of other nice places in Cape Town.

“If you're booking in advance, make sure to ask the staff about the quieter rooms that faces away from Long Street. If you're a last minute type of traveller, just ask for their earplugs ;)”
