We stayed there for almost a week. The room and the bathroom where quite clean; the only problem was the kitchen: I don't know if there was because of a particular group of people or what, but the kitchen was always dirty. Besides that John was always really helpfull in giving tips for having a better stay in the city...

I stayed from the 10th - 16th of February at this hostel which was recommended to me by a friend from Canada who had stayed here! I am so glad that I was given this recommendation and was able to stay during my time in Cape Town. I am so appreciative to all the staff, specifically John and Chris who...

Stayed here for 2 nights and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The dorm was clean and comfortable and it was lovely to have a kitchen where you can prepare food and eat with other fellow travelers.

The place I.found nice in general with big kitchen and very nice staff!! Only shower is a bit less uncomfortable and the location due to its full of bars therefore can get very noisy during the night! Overall I was satisfied!

The staff on reception are wonderful. They are extremely helpful and definitely the place's best selling point. Rooms are a good nice and clean but some of the rugs and wall hangings definitely need a change. Our first night there we was so noisy (due to cars honking horns all night) we couldn't sleep but then we moved rooms the...

This is where I would stay again if coming to Capetown. It's right on the Long Street strip, but just up the road so a little quieter. The desk staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The room was okay, if not a bit cold in the winter with no heating. The courtyard is a nice oasis for hanging out and meeting...

Enjoyable stay at Cat & Moose. Rooms are spacious although very cold at this time of year. Location is excellent - on Long Street but still very quiet in the rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful - thanks! Nice atmosphere and a variety of communal spaces.

I stayed here for three weeks over the Xmas period last year. What I like about this place is that compared to the other hostels in the area it has a more chilled out and mellow vibe yet it's in the centre of everything. John, who works here is a top guy and really made sure I was alright. It...

This was my first hostel in South Africa and in Cape Town. I enjoyed the week I stayed there. Its location on Long Street is very good: walking distance to supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, and some historical places like the St George Cathedral and the Company Gardens, to name just two. There are Myciti bus stops nearby and the Sightseeing...

We stayed here a total of four nights and would highly recommend this hostel. Our first night was spend in a double on the first floor facing Long Street, which was unfortunately very noisy (being a saturday night). We requested a different room for the next nights which was no problem and ended up in a very nice family room...

“Downstairs is more quite. You meet more people upstairs. The downstairs room is a private room and upstairs, the dorms. If you do not mind someone walking in while you shower, then stay downstairs. The bathrooms upstairs are far more private.”
