We booked at the King George for four days during the SA cross country championships. As we wanted to explore the area after the championships, the hotel was excellent situated as it was easy getting to the championships (7 minutes), easy to get unto the highway (N2) and close to town. On a golf tour with the lads we spent one night in the Protea/Marriott King George. The checkin process was sadly not seamless and easy but the quality of the rooms more than made up for it. This hotel location is not well placed, it feels so awkward getting to it. I was booked into one of the outside units. The rooms are tired and could do with some revamp. This hotel is located about 4km from main city centre. But though being far away from main city centre this hotel is worth staying in it. rooms are very big, twin bed are almost size of double bed. Breakfast is very good in this hotel

While attending an Indaba, I was booked at Protea Hotel King George. It was one of my most memorable places and times. The service was awesome, the room very comfortable with all the creature comforts one would dream of.

The standard leaves alot to be desired and the hotel could do with a makeover... looks like the rooms were done in the 90's.... the tv did not work and the light switch was broken... would not reccomend this... and the breakfast was terrible and went elswhere for our breakfast

I stayed at the King George Protea hotel for my regular business trip to George. The reservation was easy, the reception professional and the room perfect. All this at a very reasonable rate. The hotel is easily accessible and close to all amenities.
