Bluegum Country Estate was just what we wanted for a few days to laze around the pool, read, and generally veg out. The Estate is attractively set amongst a number of shady old bluegum trees. The rooms (we were in Lion) were well appointed and comfortable and the shower was fantastic. We ate all our meals there (Stanford closes down...

My husband and I stayed for one night and it was just gorgeous. The room was beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean and good value for money. Delicious breakfast sitting on the shady patio with a lovely view of the valley. Wonderful swimming pool. Secluded place, lovely staff. We couldn't fault it!

Third time we visited, this time for six nights. It's just so wonderful. Every night at six we had a knock on the door: food for our little girl. After her meal and a bedtime story, we put her to bed, took the monitor and had a dinner for two. On warmer nights you can have it outside too, what...

Bluegum is a lovely estate. The rooms (we stayed in the cottage rooms) are beautiful equipped with everything you expect from a top rated place. The staff is very friendly and helpful and Anton, our host, went always the extra mile to make our stay very pleasant. The food at the restaurant is delicious even when there is only a...

As per our previous stay, we were in a lovely, well appointed room with a great view. always happy to stay at Blue Gum. Although this time round the breakfast was a little disappointing as was the dining room service for breakfast.

This is our third visit to South Africa and we try to visit different places each time. We chose the Blue Gum Country Estate as it looked a bit different to an 'ordinary' hotel. How right we were - this place was right off the beaten track, driving over a 'corrugated' road to get to it. Very colonial in style...

My wife and I visited Bluegum this weekend and it was magnificent. The hospitality was wonderful. We didn't leave the property the entire weekend. I rate an establishment on three criteria, shower strength, comfortable bed and breakfast. Bluegum scores 10/10 on all three. The dinners were also such a treat. The cheese platter for two is possibly the best value...

We returned to this part of South Africa and The Blue Gum after many years, and we were delighted to enjoy staying at The Blue Gum once again. The quiet location, with stunning views, and high standards kept by this friendly family run small hotel, make it a MUST stay place. The rooms are all large and beautifully decorated with...

Had a great first anniversary weekend away, we were well and truly looked after and the whole team really made it special. Great surroundings and very close to an array of activities. Wish we could have stayed longer.
