We stayed at the Rex Hotel in Knysna for 2 nights in March and had a lovely stay. The hotel is very close to the Waterfront area and a great location to be in. We had a very friendly welcome and shown to our room, Room 208 on the second floor with views over the lagoon (at present – see...

Great room, great service. The balcons are large and pleasant. There is parking avaiable and the location is perfect. However, our room had no water the day we left because of a maintainance in the public system.

The view from our room was a building site .... Room was large with a kitchenette and seating area. Comfortable bed and ample wardrobe storage but the bathroom was tiny. The only communal area was an external courtyard adjacent to where breakfast is served . Within walking distance of the waterfront where there is a good selection of restaurants and...

The room was large and location perfect. But there is no excuse for the unreliable, limited access wi fi set up. This is 2017. Every decent hotel in the world has reliable, unlimited free wi fi. Many guests have complained . Why have you not listened to them? Upgrade!

The hotel is located on a busy street. The room was clean but fuctional. Reminded me of an airport hotel. Comfortable bed and good wardrobe space. Room had no balcony and overlooked a building site on the adjoining plot of land. Tiny bathroom with a rainfall shower - I hate these as it's impossible to control the water flow. The...

This hotel has some very weird rooms. No showers in some, just a bathtub. Construction noise loud and on one night went until nine pm, pouring cement. Hopefully in the new section they will correct their mistakes.

Dear Nanette58, Thank you for staying with us. My apologies for the noise of the cement machine. The contracted was unable to stop earlier as the cement had already been mixed. However this does not happen everyday. We will endeavour to correct all mistakes in the new building. We look forward to welcoming you back again. Kind Regards, Masuda

The Rex Hotel has large frosted glass panels in every room facing the passage ways. At night the outside passage lights illuminate the room so brightly it is impossible to get any sleep. We stayed at the Rex on a previous occasion and mentioned this to management, thinking they may have addressed this problem (a simple roll up block out...

Tiny room. No shower, only huge bath too big to get in/out safely. Staff provided a plastic jug for hair washing. Air con too loud to have on and sleep; lights wouldn't turn quite off at night; so had to 'sleep' with window open (boiling) & subtle lighting. Staff didn't seem at all concerned. Total contrast to the lovely hotels...
