I was offered this place but wanted a hotel which was a shame as we came here for dinner and what a wonderful place full of great staff and guests Ended up in the courtyard round a real log fire drinking beer in a power cut but what a great night and because of the electric fence am now staying...

This hostel has a great chilled out safe feel. With options of private rooms and dorms. Theres a great communal kitchen with everything you could need. A bar, pool table and a cool out door fire. They offer amazing meals which they cook over the outdoor fire. And the prices at the bar are great about 25R per drink. The...

Stayed here for two nights in a private room. Location was really good, only 20 minute walk to Cango Wildlife Park. This place provided you with everything you may need, great dinners featuring Ostrich meat, bike rentals to check out the area and even a small plunge pool. I would definitely recommend this place!

At the Backpackers Paradise I had one of the most interesting days of my entire journey. Because of my short stay of 2 nights I booked the "Joyride down Swartberg Pass – 54km" that was totally great. 54km is a long distance but most of the route is downhill, so it is totally fine for a fit person. I was...

Really enjoyed my 1 night stay at the end of our Garden Route journey. We stayed in a nice roomy dorm, which had comfy beds, 2 showers, 2 toilets (one with no door though) and 2 sinks. Had a braai on the first night, lovely and plentiful, including ostrich if you did want to try it! In the evening there...

Decided to rent a mountain bike and do the trip from the top of the swartberg pass into oudtshoorn. Booking was simple and the driver who takes you to the top of the pass by car was very helpful and pleasant. The first part of the cycle down the pass is quite tricky being on a dirt road especially if...

This was like a chilled out bungalow in the trees. Very nice and delicious hot breakfast for only 90 Rand. Only spent one night there, but it had a electric gate and felt very homey and safe. Only complaint: no towels. Maybe some to rent? (Didn't ask though)

Nice chilled hostel - easy to find and not far from supermarkets and town centre- as well as a short drive to Cango Caves and the Ostriches! Our dorm was clean and the facilities are great, including a well equipped kitchen! The staff were so awesome, make sure you try the Barman (Vicus- hope I'm spelling that right !) recommended...
