We drive into this place from the main road unsure of what we would find and were directed through beautiful gardens, blooming with daisies, to our own little white stone cottage with white corrugated iron roof (insulated from the sun) with stable door and veranda. They only do evening meals on weekdays so we were fortunate to arrive on Friday.... More

Wonderful, friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Rooms are set in beautiful gardens, full of colour and expertly maintained to give a tranquil experience. Rooms are converted from old farm buildings and are ful of character and convey a unique sense of history but bathroom is 21st century! Food is first class, both breakfast and dinner. We had only booked for one... More

Stayed here one night on our Garden Route trip and loved it. Beautiful place with so much character. Lovely people, great atmosphere. Loved the accommodation - their attention to detail was amazing. The whole setting is beautiful, it's just a pity we only stayed one night.

Most striking aspect of our visit was warmth of greeting. All S Africa properties have been friendly but this was a notch above. Beyond that the property is a good reflection of its country lodge title and website description. So more quaint and unusual than generic modern properties and reflecting country life , e.g. breakfast finishes at 9 rather that... More

I am surprised to see some negative reviews here and glad I didn't read them first ! The accommodation is in cottages in the beautiful grounds. Ours was huge with an open fireplace on the lounge - a big bathroom with a corner bath and an open shower. The area by the pool is very pretty and beautifully maintained. It... More

The previous two nights we had stayed at an excellent hotel so to come here was a stark contrast and disappointing. Everything is old fashioned and distressed. We had to share a fridge, television and tea making facilities with four other rooms in a common area - not very satisfactory. The evening meal was an only average standard but the... More

Stayed here for one night. Room large and clean but very dark. Torch required. Grounds lovely. Disappointing buffet dinner in a large somewhat dismal room. Breakfast average. Staff very pleasant and friendly!

After reading so many negative reviews i arrived there expecting nothing. What a surprise i got!! It was absolutely lovely. Even magazines on the balcony area outside. Really old world charm, but in a good way for a modern lass like me. Gardens absolutely stunning. Can fault them 2 things only. The TV did not work. I did not even... More
