Swartberg Country Manor is a beautiful and relaxing retreat. The managers went out of their way to help, and attended quickly to any query or requests. There is a lot to do in the area including hiking, cycling and driving up the historic Swartberg pass for sundowners! Will definitely be back if we head through Oudtshoorn again.

Lioni was an incredible host, going out of her way to make our stay memorable! The location is fantastic with beautiful views of the Swartberg mountains, and well situated to explore the area including the Cango Caves. Dinner was enjoyable. Definitely recommended.

Lovely retreat and we will certainly recommend Swartberg Manor to all our family and friends. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble - when we want to escape we will again visit, thank you for the experience.

The rooms need extra length beds. I am only 1.84m and my legs hung over the end of the bed, making sleep quite uncomfortable. The room was nicely decorated and well located. The food in the restaurant needs to be looked at. Two of the three dishes that we ordered were over-cooked and tough (chicken). The cost of proving scrambled...

We will be back for a longer period as one can switch off and just enjoy the creation around you. When arriving you are greeted as friends would do that haven't seen each other for a long time, absolutely wonderful.

We had an absolutely amazing stay. The hosts were incredible and the food was amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The environment is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. You hear all the sounds of nature particularly early in the morning. The view of the Swartberg mountains is incredible.

We (myself, husband, and 2 young children) are spending 4 days here and it has been an excellent experience. Service is very good, and all the staff are exceptionally friendly and kind even with our very busy children. Breakfast is included and dinner has been superb. The manager, chef and kitchen staff have treated us sooo well that I would...

We stayed for two days in Swartberg Country Manor. It was a lovely experience! the setting of the place, in front of the Swartberg Mountain is wonderful. We enjoyed simply sitting and reading in the garden of the hotel. The rooms are confortables even though a bit oldish.

Together with my boyfriend i spent two night at this wonderful place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Because two groups were coming they offered us the honeymoonsuite to get some more piece of mind! The food is delicious. Then the views: these are great as well. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Swartberg Country Manor is nestled on the farm "Voorbedacht" situated in the Cango Valley at the foot of the world-renowned Swartberg Pass. The picturesque panoramic view of the Swartberg Mountains will bring comfort to anyone that wants to "get away from it all" and simply soak up the peace of its tranquil surroundings. The farm was purchased in 2003 and welcomed its first guests in February 2005. The extraordinary views of the Swartberg Mountain from the veranda of the original farmhouse compelled us to create a venue where more people could share in the tranquillity and serenity of this beautiful valley."Voorbedacht" farm is a working farm, which offers our guests the unique opportunity to explore and experience the true essence of subsistence farming in the Little Karoo. Among the various agricultural products farmed, we also farm livestock such as, cattle, sheep and ostriches. Daily walks on the farm allow guests to experience the peace and serenity of this beautiful valley, while for the more "wild at heart"; mountain bikes are available to explore the more rugged terrain. ... more   less
