Historical Oudtshoorn house built in 1853, tastefully renovated and decorated, in central position in Baron van Reede street. However, our kids did not feel welcome and did not receive the same breakfast service. The big dog was also in the way sometimes.

Walked to the restaurant for dinner, how convenient. Central, so quick access to where I needed to be. Clean accomodation, friendly service. Comfortable bed and crisp bedding made for a restful evening. Missed some DSTV channels.

We stayed at Oakdene on the evening before the Attekwas cycle race which started VERY early in the morning. We were fortunate that breakfast was available and nothing seemed too much trouble for our hosts.

My husband and I enjoyed our night at Oakdene. The new owners have done a fabulous job maintaining the beautiful historic property. Little touches of their German roots complimented the house perfectly. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet despite facing the main road. Like another reviewer mentioned, our room did have a beautiful footed tub instead of a shower,...

NOTE: we stayed here in December 2012. After a week at Groot Brakrivier, Western Cape for Christmas my friends and I headed inland back to Jo'burg. As this trip can be hot, uncomfortable and loonngg we opted to break it up over a few days by spending a night in Oudtshoorn. As we are last minute travellers at times (and...

We were three couples and stayed at Oakdene in Oktober for two nights and were more than satisfied with the place. The rooms are lovingly furnished and decorated with beautiful pieces. The garden is a well-kept peaceful oasis. A very good and healthy breakfast is served in a lovely breakfast room or outside on the terrace (weather permitting). The German...

The new owners of Oakdene (Max and Nicola) have transformed this very comfortable Guest House in the few months since they took over in mid-2014. The garden is beautifully landscaped and the rooms in the old house have been refurbished and refurnished. Overall, there is a very welcoming and tranquil ambience, with delicious breakfast served on the terrace overlooking the...

I was on a business trip and had to leave early - before breakfast was served. I was told that breakfast is only served from 8 until 10 and that they could not serve earlier. I left the next morning at about 7:15 and breakfast preparation were already on the way. I was not even offered a sandwich for the...
