Sitting up high above the road behind an almost unnaturally green lawn liberally dotted with white garden furniture, gazebos and even it's own bandstand, La Plume is hard to miss. Similarly the accommodation, which is in bungalows around the main building, is hard to beat. A large bedroom and separate sitting room expensively furnished in heavy dark wood period style...

We stayed there for a day and regret why we could not stay there longer, this is what happens when you are on a fix tour. The staff- sarita and her team were WOW. The stay, rooms, the detailing of the things in the room and the guest house is something to talk about. If any body reading this and...

I think most people tend to stop for just one night as we did and that is such a shame. It it a beautiful main building and the rooms which have there own front doors are a very, very good standard. There is not a great deal very close so most guests eat at the guest house. You will not...

Large room and even larger bathroom. Clean rooms, well kept grounds. Great dinner and breakfast. Proximity to the main road was a bit of a concern (noise), but was not noticed during the night. Friendly and efficient staff.

For its setting alone La Plume takes the honours. A landscape that is very foreign to me but one that I would describe as 'Big Country' featuring a wide panoramic dusty plain with a distant mountainous backdrop. The main dwellinghouse has a very colonial feel to it. The staff were very pleasant, the accommodation and in particular the evening meal...

My husband and I had to make an unexpected trip to Oudtshoorn and were fortunate enough to find accommodation at La Plume. Our suite was beautifully furnished and provided everything we needed. To Surita and the rest of the staff a huge thank you for the excellent service. From our welcome drink to the delicious dinner we had we were...

Great colonial style accommodation situated amongst an ostrich farm. It is a little remote and so needs a vehicle to reach it from Oudtshoorn, but it was a great base to explore the area, including De Rust, the Kareedowberg pass, and Prince Albert. Plenty of ostrich around (plus other wildlife) but the farm’s own morning guided tour of the farm...

The Place is homely and comfortable and has great history .. Big Bay tours will use it again and again . The owners take personal interest and mingle with the guests and the dinners are really great . It gives one a feel of being in an upmarket Guest house but also the feeling of being on a working farm...

Great and unexpected place in a rough and semi desert area. From the food to the (bath-)room, we enjoyed everything there. The attention to detail was particularly noticed. The farm tour provided great insights into the farm life out there. Our kids particularly enjoyed the ostriches as they could get very close to them. Overall a great place and ideal...
