We stayed in one of Knorhoek's cottages. Lovely peaceful setting. Nice roomy accommodation. We had some dinners in their restaurant and the food was subperb. Wines also very good. Lovely friendly staff.

Loved our two nights here! A little off the beaten track but not too far. Lovely grounds, good hosts, good wine, beautiful grounds. Our room with ensuite was charming. Has comfortable and spacious guest lounge with open fire, nice for relaxing after a day out.

I booked a room at Knorhoek guesthouse for the charm of staying in a winery. Wine plantations arent visible though from any of the easily accessible areas. The room was very small and old. Breakfast was okayish, did have sufficient options. Service was average too. We did not do wine tasting here.

Dear DM Thank you for you honest review. I get the impression that you were expecting the type of wineries advertised in glossy magazines. Knorhoek dates back to 1827 and earlier and the guesthouse is as advertised on our website, renovated stables. Buildings in earlier times, were placed near water sources, and protected from the devastating East wind. The vineyards...

Our son married his fiancée at this beautiful place. We stayed over for 3 nights and were in lavender cottage. Very big and plenty of room for a family. The staff were all really friendly. We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast could not be faulted. All cooked fresh to order. The wedding venue is stunning .. In...

Dear Edith Thank you for your review and we apologise for the inconvenience. The film company was shooting in the vineyard, far from the guesthouse, but set up shop right next to the guesthouse because of internet reception and electricity supply - we neglected to take this into consideration. Fortunately thye packed up early afternoon and peace settled upon the...

My husband and I stayed here one night before leaving the western cape. It is situated near stellenbosch and on the r44 with numerous wine estates nearby to visit. There is a lovely garden with grass in front of the rooms. There is only one communal braai. The farm has a great and interesting history. The rooms are next to...

Dear Leentjie Thank you for taking the time to write your comprehensive and complimentary review. Cellphone reception is bad in the entire valley and we have tried many routes to have it improved, but the suppliers are not interested. Blocked showerhead and outlet is unacceptable and I trust you reported this to reception. The restaurant is never open to guests...

This wine estate has some lovely rooms and cottages to stay. We were lucky to have a well appointed cottage, so ample space for us. The only fly in the ointment was the lighting in the bathrooms, very inadequate! But everything else was tiptop. We arrived late in the afternoon after a long trip in pelting rain mostly from Oudtshoorn....

Dear Mollandaise We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Knorhoek and I shall print your comments for Liesel to see and enjoy. She does make the best sirloin steaks ever! I shall report the insufficient lighting in the cottage bathrooms and ensure that this is improved. Our estate wines are excellent value for money, especially the quality of...

We stayed there for two nights. We had already a great lunch in their restaurant and a very nice wine tasting at their estate before our check-in. Our bedroom was lovely, nice decorated, very clean with a small private terrace. We went for a walk between the wine yards with its spectacular views. Everything was just perfect. Breakfast on their...
