Returned after staying there some 35 years ago. As we remembered it, but with changes in accommodation. Spent a wonderful night in a large suite with a modern bathroom with a double shower. Had a great dinner and was served by a very friendly lady who had lived in the area all her life. Breakfast was buffet and quite adequate...

Stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. The rooms were good , and the views were excellent . However, I was not at all keen on this hotel. The rooms were quite a way from reception and the swimming pool was down some steep steps and in the shade. Quite chilly and not somehere you would want to...

Dear Bellou2 Thank you for your review. The pool area during the last winter we opened and cleared a lot of trees to get more sun to it. We did have a bit of rain during your specific trip and perhaps that's why the area felt cool after the heat wave you had earlier on your trip. The confusion around...

Stayed for 2 nights and had a good experience. There were a few minor things where service good have been a bit better, which you could see as being frustrating. Only very tiny improvements could be made, that would change the experience into being much better. eg when having a wine tasting session you would expect the bar man to...

Granted we were only staying for one night - but for what we were paying, I would honestly not recommend this hotel at all. The experience was totally forgettable. We were woken up three times by staff walking into our room (from 7am), no turn down service, no water in the room, Staff shouting at one another in the passages....

Dear Nats68 Many thanks for the honest review. I apologise we did not create a positive memorable experience during your stay. As discussed in a private email, I will be addressing the issue that occurred during your stay. Certainly not our standards we strive to deliver. For those reading the review: Although turn down did not happen during Nast68 stay,...

We booked in here at the shortest notice possible, escaping from a different pre-booked guest house which, when we arrived, we realised simply wasn't right for us. Good old booking.com found us this place, and within the hour we were checked in and feeling much happier. Not one of the wine estates to rave about for wine, the hotel itself...

We attended a conference at Devon Valley Hotel. Not much to do or see at the hotel itself and a few kms outside town. The conference arrangements and refreshments were nice and the food good (but a bit expensive I think – R160 for lunch). Good if you only need a bed and food. The hotel does arrange transport and...

Dear erna o Thank you for the time taken to give us feedback on your stay. The parking being away from the rooms was a deliberate and strategy we decided on. We want and have created tranquil rooms in our gardens free of cars. We do offer several activities at our hotel. From wine and whiskey tastings to food pairings,...

The Devon Valley Hotel was not our first choice leading up to our South African trip. However, now that we have been there we are unconditional fans. For most people visiting South Africa and neighbouring countries, this is an ideal spot to unwind in the middle of a hectic tour. It is small, (50 rooms), situated in it's own vineyard with spectacular views across the plains to the mountains. The room are quite small, but beautifully furnished and fantastic bathrooms with free standing baths and walk-in showers....

This is a great hotel. The setting is spectacular and the whole package is very appealing. We stayed in a Junior Suite which had excellent many thousand thread sheets and a lovely period charm to it. Wonderful hotel, staff are lovely, super helpful and attentive. We stayed in a vineyard room which was gorgeous, the views were breath-taking.
