Location: 10 minute drive from Stellenbosch town. You will need a car to get around here, but if you have a car, you will not have any problems. The view from the garden and pool is fantastic. It is located close to the vineyards and is on the Cape Town side of Stellenbosch. One thing to note. We had picked...

Zeef, Managing owners at Allegria Guesthouse, responded to this review

Dear Sir, Madam, We were kind of surprised and disappointed to read the feedback of “tirol_traveller” on TripAdvisor and would like to add following comments: - Indeed, we ‘lost’ the reservation for the first night; the other nights were in the system as booked. Though the Comfort rooms are a bit smaller compared to the DeLuxe rooms, the beds and...

We stayed at Allegria for three nights this January, it was the second time we had stayed there and it was as memorable and magical as we had remembered it. Anne Marie and Jan who run Allegria are so helpful and in many ways you leave feeling like you have been staying with old friends. The rooms are lovely and...

We had a really nice stay here & felt very relaxed and at home. Place was really nice but a little out of town, but this didn't pose a problem to us. You will definitely need a car to get around. Definitely worth a stay if in the area to visit the wineries.

Wonderful setting, with a marvelous view and relaxing loungers round the pool! Jan and Anne-Marie were a wealth of knowledge and very helpful suggesting wineries and restaurants to visit. Would have appreciated a/c in our room, and a shower curtain although the floor did dry quickly! The breakfasts were gorgeous and service second to none! Thank you

We stayed at the Allegria Guesthouse for 3 nights at the Zebra Room. The Guesthouse has a wonderful location with gorgeous views, yet very calm and clean. We enjoyed our stay very much as individual travellers as this is a good location for every day trip in the Winelands. The breakfast may be taken on a shady patio when warm...

This property is in the wine hills and about 15 minutes drive away from Stellenbosch itself. The property and landscapes were lovely. The Room was contemporary and clean. My only concern with the room is that it was an open plan design so the shower (wet room) was behind the bed with no doors etc therefore no privacy and also...

I chose Allegria after a lot of research as the more 'chintzy' properties which seem to be the general theme in the winelands didn't appeal to us. We were made welcome from the minute we arrived by the owners and their charming dogs. Our room was large and nicely furnished with double doors opening onto the pool and gardens. The...

We had a good and friendly stay at Allegria. Ths rooms are rather basic, but nice and clean, and the view from the small terraces is nice. The lounge is nice to sit in the evening and e.g watch a film on dvd. The muffins are great.

We stayed here in Feb '06 as part of our honeymoon trip around the cape area. This guesthouse is so well run that you'll find yourself promising that you'll only stay here next time and no-where else! It has the longest pool I've seen in a long time and the rooms are like boutique London hotel rooms - fab. An...
