I was told by a friend about Hawksmoor House, and he recommended I stay there for a night or two. Being a medical representative that do extensive travelling, I am sceptical about most guest houses. I arrived at the gate, pressed the intercom button and announced my arrival. Two of the employees was there to welcome me to the guest...

I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay at this magical place. It's so easy to find and only 40 minutes from the centre of Cape Town. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by warm smiles from Bridget and a freshly baked cheesecake and large pots of coffee. I knew we were onto something special...

My wife (who is 8.9 months pregnant) and I spent the night at Hawksmoor House on Saturday, as our final getaway from the city before the baba arrives. We were greeted on arrival and escorted to the beige room, which is beautifully decorated in turquoise & beige (as the name suggests). The staff made us feel at home and fussed...

This place seems to have its reputation on tripadvisor well established, so this is probably redundant. But it only seems fair to confirm that my stay with my wife and two year old child was fantastic. We were there for four days. The staff was charming. The the owners were also friendly. I had read that they were aloof in...

We've stayed at Hawksmoor a number of times now and it is always wonderful. Until our most recent stay I always considered it a summer destination, but it is actually spectacularly cozy for a winter getaway. We enjoyed a bottle of their excellent Hawksmoor Pinotage by the fireplace before heading to Stellenbosch for dinner. We stayed in one of the...

We stayed at the Hawksmoor House for 5 days in July 2010 while visiting S.A. and it was absolutely perfect. This place is absolutely beautiful. If you have your own car, it is conveniently located very close to the N1 exit and all other major roads in the Stellenbosch area, allowing you to have a little peace and quiet while...

We loved staying in this beautiful, historic house & walking around the peaceful farm & gardens. Our room was lovely ...they had heated floors!!! And we had wonderful service. We were treated to waffles & ice cream when we arrived & also enjoyed a superior farmhouse breakfast. The house is close enough to town to drive in for dinner &...

I have managed 5 star game lodges around Africa. So I am normally very critical on places that I stay at. But Hawksmoor I can not fault. It is an absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to spend a few nights at. The service, food, accommodation etc... where all top notch. To top it off, its just across the valley from...

I really don't think there are enough superlatives to adequately explain my feelings about Hawksmoor. It was absolutely fantastic. My wife and I stayed there for two nights and loved every minute of it (even the part where we were recovering from visiting too many wine farms during the day and missing our much anticipated dinner at Rust en Vrede!)....

Maiki was a wonderful hostess and she and her well trained staff were always available to accomodate all of our needs. Breakfasts were fantastic. Lots of home made bread and jam and the breakfast was cooked to order. Afternoon tea was always great. The homemade cakes were something we looked forward to. If you did not want to go out...
