Plus points are that is close to Cape Town. Animals are beautiful and in a good condition. One can see that they are passionate about the wellbeing of the animals. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. Game Ranger Deon goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and he is very knowledgeable and passionate about his animals....

In April we went to Fairy Glen. The big five conservation park near Worcester. Overall we had a amazing experience and it is definitely a place to go first if you want to get up close to all the animals. Like all places there are your pros and cons. Cons 1. It was a struggle to make a booking and...

This was a brilliant afternoon safari. We were met with a lovely orange juice at the lower lodge before going into the reserve and eating a tasty lunch with salad and hot mains followed by a choice of desserts. A plentiful supply of tea and coffee gave us a relaxed lunch before heading off to see the animals. We were...

Although this is not a safari, you will get to see the some animals from close quarters. The rangers seem to really care about the animals. The staff is friendly. Each chalet is different in size and layout. There are no phones (landlines) in the chalets. We had problems with the water supply and had to walk up to the...

The park is much smaller than one would expect; lions are all in enclosures, you don't feel like you're watching wild animals, it feels more like a zoo. I've been to larger safari parks in Denmark (which is a tiny country). The busses also felt cramped and we couldn't hear the guide at the back. On a positive note, the...

Fairy Glen is located just out of Worcester, meaning it is convenient for Capetonians or tourists to Cape Town as it is just an hour's drive away. It is a truly magical place, tucked away in the glen with stunning mountain views. Our guide was knowledgable and funny - and it is an awesome experience to hear the stories of...

We went as a couple for educational visit, we were welcomed warmly, we were offered breakfast along with other guests, afterwards we were asked to join the guests for a morning drive, our Guide was funny, knowledgeable and knew his work. Afterward we went for a beautiful delicious meal. Weather was incredible, we wanted to buy the wine which is...

Excellent place to visit. Started off with a continental breakfast. We then got picked up by our excellent guide Andrew who took us around the reserve to see the animals up close and personal. We than had a short walk to the base of the mountains. Then back for lunch and after lunch picked up and taken back to lodge...

If you have ever been to a "game park" in Ohio where you drive through in your own car and feed buckets of kibble to a giraffe then you have basically seen this place. It is far from a real safari, and while you cannot feed the animals by hand the keepers do supplemental feed some of the animals. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fairy Glen Safaris, a family owned business about a hour from Cape Town is set at the foot of the world famous Brandwacht Mountains. It was the cherised dream of the latest owner, Piet de Jager to transform the land into a big 5 game reserve, which was eventually realised through his commitment and dedication over the years. Fairy Glen's name is derived from the dragon fly who used to fly over the Glen (Valley) and was so big, it resembled Fairies. ... more   less
