I go to Alentejo as many times as I can, and always stay near Estremoz to visit family. When I saw Casa do Terreiro do Poço I knew I had to stay here! All the rooms are exquisite and the owners are very friendly. I booked two adjoining small villas with a private patio that were just lovely. Both were...

We stayed here for three nights in late September. Hot and tired on our arrival, we were greeted by Rita and taken to our room/suite. The coolness and shadiness of our suite was bliss but upstairs was a wonderful balcony where we could sit in the sun in the late afternoon should we wish. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and...

very charming, openminded hosts. we didn't have reservation, came in low season and they changed their private plans to accommodate us. Best breakfast during our 3 weeks in Portugal. Homemade jam, yoghurt and fruits from the garden. House with a lot of history, antique furniture, you can feel that there's a lot of passion in everything. We had a great...

Actually, it was literally on the beaten path too. Ask your wonderful host Rita about the town's "lantern walk." But just make sure you wear good shoes if she invites you to join the town on that little excursion! Fabulous stay; beautiful property. We will be back soon for sure. Creative types: ask about the "kitchen" !

My husband and I stayed at Casa do Terreiro do Poço for one night in April. We were quite happy with the accommodations and breakfast. What really made this place special for us was our host, Rita. She gave us great information about what to see and do in the area. Not only did Rita recommend a great, inexpensive local...

I stayed at Casa do Terreito do Poço with my family last summer. A very busy few months at work meant I was unable to write a review at the time, but over the past year I've found myself thinking (indeed, dreaming!) about this extraordinary place over and over again, and so thought I'd write one now. Upon arrival you're...

We first visited and reviewed the Casa do Terreiro do Poço in September 2007 and have just returned from our fourth visit. We have always requested the same room, the Casa da Varanda,. After our first visit we e-mailed the owner to say that the bathroom mirror was too low and that the lighting in that room was poor. We...

Spent four wonderful nights at the Casa Do Terreiro do Poco. Had a lovely room, well-furnished , with a private terrace beside the pool. Our hosts Rita and Joao were very warm and welcoming. They guided us to some great restaurants in Borba and region and helped us plan our daily itinerary. The breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety...

Very helpful from our initial booking enquiry. Easy to find location, although parking congested. We had a great room with shaded terrace that was next to the pool and guests lounge. Breakfast was traditional style with as much as you wanted. I would have liked fresh fruit to have been included. The home made yoghurt was excellent. Advice on local...

Stayed here as a family with two kids under 11. Borba in itself is a bit disappointing, a few churches and convents that could be worth seeing if they had been open at anytime during the day (midweek). Owners of Terreiro do Paço are friendly, even if a bit too eager to tell us what to do at all times....
