Lovely old building in central Tomar, one step and your on the beautiful central street. Inside a lovely old building with steep stairs and laid back charm. The rooms are fitted with beautiful old furniture, but the bed was very comfortable. The manager was a lovely man full of information. However we went in February on a particularly cold and... More

As you walked through the door it is stepping back either the 1940s or Edwardian times. You mountaineer the steep stairs to your big room and admire the arts and crafts furnishings. Sleep in beds with bedding that weigh a ton. Dont go there in winter (February) as no hot water will come through the taps even running the hot... More

My wife stayed at this hotel for 3 days in October, The hotel itself was quite comfortable. Being there made me feel like we had stepped back in time. (For us, this is a good thing). There were lots of public spaces where you could hang out. The room itself was small, but it worked for the two of us.... More

Guest and house are the operative words here. This house has been taking visitors for two hundred years and you certainly feel like a welcome guest, but luxury, it is not. Every public room is at your disposal, full of character and it was lovely to see guests walking about the house feeling at home. All staff were friendly and... More

Sweet little pension in the middle of town. Family owned, honor system bar, rooms full of old/antique furniture, charming staff and generally just a lovely, lovely place to stay. Not a Best Western, so if you like cookie cutter bland with all the lumps sanitized out, this place is not for you.

Me and my wife read the descriptions for União and right away knew this was the place to stay. It's a 120 years old hotel, and yes, it's not shiny or fancy, but boy it does have character. The floor boards squeak a bit, and the bathroom tiles are old, but everything is very clean and tide. The shower is... More

My husband and I spent one night in this very friendly hotel and we found everything simply perfect. The hotel is wonderfully located in the historic centre of Tomar, rooms are cosy and clean, the staff is very kind. The ratio quality/price is really amazing.

Unfortunately this hotel didn't really live up to our expectations. Everything was rather dated and worn out, especially the bathroom. The bed was small, and the mattress uncomfortable. The walls were paperthin so we could hear our neighbors' choice of tv programs word for word. Breakfast was mediocre (cold coffee, very little choice). Staff were very friendly, and the central... A clean and traditional Portuguese Pensao overlooking the main, now pedestrianized, avenue of Tomar. Parking is found in either direction about 1-2 blocks away, but you'll have to get up in the morning to feed the parking machine at 8am. Pro Tip: Park in front of "Igreja de São Francisco" and walk the 3 blocks for worry free and free... More

Antique furniture. A pretty room. Pasteis de nata as well as all the usual buffet ingedients for breakfast. Really friendly and helpful staff. A location on the main (pedestrian, I think) street of the historic centre of Tomar, so far my favourite town in Portugal. All this for thirty euros. I'll be back!
