Firstly, the hotel is beautiful. The views are incredibly stunning. When we woke up in the morning after arriving late at night we were taken away by the view. Our room was amazing, it look out onto the mountain and the sea and it was beautiful. That is the only good thing I can say about this hotel. When we first arrived at around 11pm their time, we were greeted by 2 rude receptionists. Our first problem was the wifi. I know you can say on holiday you don’t want to go on your phone etc however wifi is a massive thing and you want access to it whenever you need it. We were told by the receptionists that the wifi only was available in the tiny dark lobby??!! Is this 2015??!! Another new traveller was actually complaining about it at the same time as me…. They both laughing in our faces and started talking in Turkish… it was so rude!! We just had done a whole day of travelling we want to talk to our families maybe watch some telly together in bed. But no, we have to sit in the lobby every single time we wanted to use the wifi. They told us the wifi worked at the pool, I can 100% confirm, no it does not!! This is shocking and for there to be no wifi really ruined the holiday and made it difficult for us to contact our loved ones. The food…. The food was absolutely ghastly. Honestly the food was horrific. We purposely booked an all inclusive holiday so we didn’t have to worry about food or pay loads for eating out all the time. We spent about 80% of our holiday money eating out as we could not bare the food. (One amazing recommendation is a restaurant called Moonlight btw) 3rd night into our holiday myself and my girlfriend both got extremely ill. It was to the point where I had to stay in bed all throughout the day as I couldn’t leave the toilet from throwing up and exploding (downstairs). It got so bad that I had to go down to reception at midnight and ask if I could get a doctor called for me. They called and said it would cost me £150 up front in cash!! Being in another country and extremely ill is a very vulnerable place. The only average food was at lunch when you could get a burger. However there was only 1 person cooking the food and you had to wait ages as so many people were there getting food because they hadn’t eaten their grim breakfast food served by the main restaurant. I would never return to St Nicholas. If they sorted their food out, based on the view, location and hotel layout, I do not see any reason why they couldn’t be a 5 star hotel.…
Overall a brilliant holiday. First off the staff were amazing, all of them, but especially Ickram who couldn’t of done more for us. Friendly, helpful and a good laugh. Also, Sonya behind the bar always happy and singing, and always remembered our order. Secondly the food was always good quality, yes repetitive as most all inclusive are but always fresh lots of salad choices and deserts. Plus there was a snack bar during the day and fresh pancakes made by a lovely lady on most afternoons (sweet and savoury) which both my boys enjoyed. Thirdly, the entertainment was hit and miss, some acts were amazing but on a couple of occasions it was just bingo and karaoke, that being said still a great atmosphere sat around one of the pools in evening with other holiday makers. Forth on my list would be the pools, 3 to chose from and a baby pool, also a slide which was a good laugh. Fifth, the room in hotel are basic but clean, air-con worked a treat and maids did visit daily, changed towels and beds regularly. Lastly, location… not set right on the beach front but a ten minute walk to the local town Hisonaru which was a lovely town packed full with restaurants and bars, plenty of shops, and some surprising guests along the walk (goats, chickens, a tortoise which we saw regularly and although we didn’t see ourself… wild boars). Also, not walkable to the nearest beach but literally 5/10 minutes in a cab and your there right by the blue lagoon and again more restaurants, shopping etc. We really had a great time and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great holiday but understanding this is not a five star, so not to expect it. But absolutely brilliant if you ask me. We were 6 guests 4 adults and 2 children…
Activities advertised more or less non existent Harry head entertainer more interested playing pool rather than doing the activities. Football was advertised but the pitch was overgrown with bushes aqua gym again advertised the young lady who did this was told by Harry not to do it. When it’s time for clients to go home Harry talks to them and ask’s them to leave good comments about him.Location of hotel was superb brilliant watching the wind gliders come over the mountain . Staff are so friendly particularly the bar staff around the pool.
Visited this supposedly popular hotel with my wife last week for a well earned rest. We arrived at 1 AM and was greeted by the one and only reception member. The reception area was dimly lit, which remained so throughout our visit. We paid for but didn`t get a sea view, instead we had a standard room overlooking the small pool with views of trees. On entry to the room, it was indeed basic. First thing that went wrong was the toilet roll holder fell off the wall as soon as it was touched. The bed only had a bottom sheet too and the top blanket was of the exfoliating kind. Nothing was put on the wall straight neither. The room had a safe but sadly it wasn`t bolted to anything!!. The whole apartment was relatively clean and tidy. Tea / coffee making facilities were very basic with powered milk (yuk). The shower provided hot constant water all week as required, but the most annoying feature was that the shower tray never emptied of water and as such at night when you showered you were standing in the mornings un-drained cold water, which wasn`t pleasant at all. Most depressing was the lack of decent lighting in the room at night. A couple of LED vanity mirror lights were never going to make the room bright. Food here at St Nicholas hotel was as previously mentioned a bit hit and miss. Home made bread and patisseries was outstanding, but you cannot survive on them all week. Breakfast was only average and your best bet like us was to have fresh omelettes made to order while you wait. Food sometimes especially at night was only luke warm which is a pet hate of mine. Chicken was nice and freshly cooked, and obviously and understandably pork was off the menu too. But I feel some of the problem with dinner here was that the hotel lacked the middle bit AKA fresh vegetables. Dessert and the salad bar was always good though in terms of choice and flavour. Staff all over the hotel were the stars here though, they were friendly, chatty and genuinely couldn`t do enough for you. Also as mentioned and in common with a lot of hotels that are fully inclusive the food became quite repetitive after only a few nights though which was a little disappointing. Lunchtime was pizza`s, burgers etc which a lot of people ate given the slightly disappointing breakfast some day`s. The main pool was freezing cold, colder than the sea to be honest, but was really well kept in terms of cleanliness. All of the bar areas were unwelcoming as all the drinks either come from a bottle or small miniature bottles for the spirit. The bar areas were soulless for me as there were no actual optics to view or choose your drinks. Bar staff along with all staff were friendly enough though. The only trip we did was to Fethiye market and ghost town in the same trip. The market was typical of these foreign markets whereby you barter them down to a price your happy with. Tons and tons of fake goods, so buyer beware! Hisaronu town is a pleasant walk in daylight, but it`s dark and gloomy at night and although you feel safe enough here, it is something to think about if your in a small group. Taxis are cheap here but typically, some drivers would give Max Verstappen a run for his money. Oludeniz is less than £5 each way and is a vibrant strip. The only place we ate was at Cloud9, food here was well priced and the place was buzzing. Beach wise we stumbled across Sea Horse Beach Club (Holudeniz) which although you paid an admission charge for loungers and an umbrella, the lagoon was non tidal and the water crystal clear too. Eating here was pure bliss and we visited and ate here twice it was that good. Meanwhile back at the hotel, there were a few well justified complaints going in as people were unhappy over a range of things. Now it was very late in the season here and the hotel was closing for winter the week after we left, so a lot of things didn`t happen as advertised and promised. Things like children`s clubs just never happened causing complaints from families who thought that there would be clubs for their kids. The football pitch was badly overgrown and hadn`t been used for a long time. Complaints about the food also surfaced too, which at time I agree with. It was blatantly obvious that the hotel was on the rundown to closing for winter, but I feel that people had a right to moan about some of the lack of facilities here. At the end of the day people pay the same price as people staying mid-season so rightfully so deserve everything others get. We would stay in Oludeniz again, just not at St Nicholas Hotel Hisaronu. We did meet some fantastic people here in the hotel and coupled with the willing staff made the week enjoyable despite trouble brewing in some areas of the hotel in terms of food, facilities and other areas of slight concern. It is a 3 star plus hotel and we need to remember that. A lot could be done to make things better and hopefully a new season will see for some a welcome change.…
This was our 2nd holiday here. The new management team cannot do enough for everyone staying here. You always see the manager helping his staff cleaning up in restaurant. Making cheese on toast 5 different ways to get my Autistic 7yr old to eat was just 1 of the examples and the food was good ..always something to eat from the vast choice. The pool is very very slippy and the stairs only access to the bar and entertainment are the only concerns we had. The staff work so hard to look after everyone always cleaning the place. The rooms were great and beds made daily. The drinks were great too and cocktails strong!! Can't wait to return again.
First time holiday in Turkey. Absolutely brilliant. Definitely will be back. Scenery is amazing. Close to Hisaronu main strip if you fancy a shopping day or a restaurant. Easy walking down but a nice exercise if you walking back up. Taxis and dolmus are easily available. Staff cannot do enough. So friendly. Spa is worth a visit, a great bit of pampering. Food was different everyday, and so much choice. Hotel was kept clean in all areas. Perfect weather for us end of October, just need something warmer for the evening when watching the entertainment. Something for everyone.
This hotel is fabulous…. We came as a family of 8 from Aberdeen, from check in at reception, to our lovely clean & spacious rooms was great. The entertainment team Harry & Merry are lovely and get everyone up on their feet, very kind and helpful, invited us all out of the hotel also with the older kids to PARTY… for their birthdays , always keeping us entertained throughout the day, never pressure you always ask if you want to participate in the daily activities. The food is lovely, always something you can eat day & night. Lovely spacious pool & pleanty of Sun loungers to pick from. Not many hotels include the cocktails on the drinks list on All Inclusive, but they do here! Also iced coffee available if you love coffee as much as us! We certainly will be back next year as Turkey goers , this area is lovely, close to all restaurants, bars and shops, snack bars and food courts. Amazing trips also at very reasonable prices. £2.50 in a taxi if required, but a lovely 10-15 minute walk down to the main strip. See you all again next year St Nicholas Park… from the Aberdeen family’s 🥰…
The hotel was in a lovely setting but so many steps. I was surprised to see so many school age children as it was term time. All the staff were wonderful and so helpful. My room had a view towards the sea but was limited due to the large slide. The food was ok but on some occasions it was cold. The TUI rep was difficult to see unlike the Jet2 rep who was always walking around the hotel speaking to people. Due to the number of steps which I found difficult to access, I shall not be booking this hotel again.
Mary was an amazing entertainer she was absolutely lovely she did such a great job definitely one of the best entertainers I’ve talked to in a while. The food was amazing as well and the rooms were always spotless and got cleaned everyday. I was there for a week and one of the best weeks every will definitely be back at this hotel !!
