A lovely little hotel, staff were exceptional. Room was quiet and very comfortable with all mod cons, bed was very comfy. The hotel arranged transfers to/from airport which were excellent, on time and comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I am very pleased that we decided to spend a couple of days in Buenos Aires before our SAmerican cruise. And the Casa Calma, a small environment friendly hotel in the centre of the City is well named as it is indeed tranquil and the breakfast catered for all tastes. Would stay there again. The first day was spent rushing...

Very refreshing atmosphere in a city where everything is hustle & bustle. The rooms are spacious. Each room has a Jacuzzi and a shower, dual sinks and plenty of bathroom counter space.. It's a small hotel (18 rooms); we chose one away from the street which probably made it even better. Staff is very friendly & helpful. We booked a...

From the great room with a lot of space, jacuzzi and rainforest shower until the outstanding and individual service of the whole staff... We had a great time here. The location is also excellent to explore the city by foot. Fully recommendet!

Casa Calma is an eco-friendly hotel, centrally located, with spacious rooms, xlarge beds, shower, jacuzzi. The atmosphere is serene ("calma") and the young service staff is available, quick, polite. The breakfast area rather small. All common parts (reception, breakfast area) were really small. We can not give the highest score because nothwithstanding having requested a quiet room, not facing the...

The hotel was fabulous. Of the three hotels we stayed in over our trip, Casa Calma was the best. Staff was courteous and very helpful. Rooms and public areas were well maintained and clean. Loved the large format rooms with generous bath facilities. Being on a relatively quiet street was nice. Walking distance to many sites and restaurants. Breakfast selection...

We (2 couples) were finishing a 3 week trip to Patagonia; this was our last stop before returning home. The hotel is a small boutique hotel located within walking distance of many sights and restaurants. We had one glitch - upon arrival no one was at the front desk to let us in. Eventually another guest opened the door for...

I had two lovely nights in this hotel on my arrival and departure in Argentina. I was traveling on my own and it was a great location to walk to all of the sites. The staff were very helpful in arranging airport transfers and a night at the tango show.

A friend and I traveled to BA in mid January and stayed at Casa Calma. The front desk staff was always available to recommend and help us select the proper excursion. Ema and Rodrigo in particular provided exceptional service. We also enjoyed the location of the hotel. There was easy access to Puerto Madero, Recoleta, San Telmo and other popular...

Spent 6 nights after having traveled for 3 weeks in South America. Reasonable location with access to public transportation. Very attentive staff. Rooms and bathrooms are large, comfortable, and quiet. Good healthy breakfast with fresh fruits, natural yogurt, nuts, fresh breads, cheese, and cold cuts. Eggs made to order is included.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
