As with most of the downtown BA places the exterior is nondescript, but inside it is exquisitely modern. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the smiling staff. Our room, 801, was very nice with a jacuzzi tub. The breakfast was extensive for an Argentine spread. Special orders are handled smoothly. Being downtown it is within walking distance of many...

I stayed here with a friend for a few nights. The rooms are large, clean, chic and quiet. It's the first hotel room that I've had with a sauna in the room. The breakfast is good and the service is fantastic. If you like a particularly quiet room then request a high room at the rear of the building.

Stayed here with my husband drawn by amazing reviews and we can simply confirm that this place is fab. The room was fantastic and we loved the Jacuzzi bath- it really was bliss. We particularly liked how quiet the rooms were as we never heard noise or movements of other guests. Little bonuses like robes, turn down service with chocs...

Two thumbs up! We stayed for 12 nights and loved each and every one! We arrived late at Casa Calma, but that made absolutely no difference. Staff are always kind and attentive, no matter what time it is or what you ask for. Do not hesitate to ask the concierges for help with restaurant choices, booking your reservations or suggestions...

This was by far the best hot I've stayed in Buenos Aires so far. Beautiful, clean, modern and peaceful place located in the microcentro near Santa Fé avenue. Great location. The staff is very friendly, polite, fun and helped me with everything I needed. I got a room upgrade and my room had a sauna, besides the great jacuzzi. I...

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Casa Calma hotel. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The room was wonderful (we got a free upgrade to a room with a sauna in addition to a jacuzzi), but the service was even better. Everyone was so attentive to all our requests, and all the guys and girls made...

(+) Rooms are large. The jacuzzi tube is huge & easily fits two people. The mini bar in the room is reasonable priced. The staff members are all super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included. The hotel is centrally located and you can easily walk to many tourist attractions. There is a nice restaurant right across the street with reasonable...

Staying in Buenos Aires whilst visiting Argentina and Peru with mate. We took turns booking hotels and this one was booked by my friend. He certainly made an excellent choice. The hotel calls its self a wellness hotel. It is a narrow building with 9 floors with only two rooms per floor. Coming up in the lift you feel like...

Wow. I can sum up this review easily: Stay at the Casa Calma. Look no further. Just do it. Now for the long part. I don't know where to start. The staff could not be more patient, kind and knowledgable. They are all very young and energetic, and it was always great to come down to breakfast (BTW if you...

This was my best hotel for my two week stay in Buenos Aires I wish I had made it for the whole vacation instead of one night. The room was charming on the 9 th floor, a jacuzzi built for two! A comfy king bed with yummy Egyptian cotton sheets. The gals at the front desk were over the top...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
