The room is 2 levels. It was lovely and they gave a great breakfast with fresh made orange juice. The outside area had many antique stores and close to transportation. There was a cute square which served coffee to meals as well as entertainment. The help was excellent and would arrange for anything you needed.

A windowless room at the back of the hotel for a seven night stay seemed disappointing at first but became a quiet secure sanctuary. Location excellent for the bars and streets of San Telmho, 20 minutes north or south to Plaza de Mayo or Boca and the same to a metro station. All facilities worked fine and breakfast was better...

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights during an 8 day trip to Buenos Aires, and I wish I had picked this hotel for the full duration of my trip. It is ideally located in the bustling, tourist area of San Telmo, and has some very good rooms, and really lovely staff. The only issue I had was that...

I stayed here on 2 occasions throughout my trip. The hotel has a great location in the heart of San Telmo. The rooms are loft-style with the bathroom down a flight of steps and the bed above with cable TV. It feels a bit like a mini-apartment. I found the rooms very comfortable, very clean and very quiet. Both rooms...

Great young couple running this place. Easy 30min walk to central area and Plaza De Mayo. Loft rooms, quaint, clean and modern, air con, very helpful staff, interesting arty and antique shops nearby as well as cafes and restaurants.

This little hotel is not too far from town but is is an older part of the city opposite a square where there are often tango dancers strutting their stuff. There are plenty of coffee shops, bars and restaurants in close proximity. The staff are very friendly and helpful and will offer advice on tourist related topics. A continental breakfast...

Nice, clean hotel with very nice staff in the heart of San Telmo. Highly recommended by two adults and a 13 yo teenager! Right in front of the door you find the market and many small restaurants, some even with live music. And for all Starbucks lovers: you will be served just around the corner when exiting the hotel.

Stayed 4 days at the hotel. The staff spoke perfect English, was super friendly and helpful. I prefer to walk when visiting new city and found the location very good- it's about an hour walk down to La Boca (don't recommend doing this at night though), Plaza de Mayo is about 30 minutes away. Defensa Street is an interesting place...

Stayed at the Telhmo Boutique Hotel for 4 days. Staff was helpful and easy-going. Location is perfect...the little square outside the hotel is nice, lots of options for restaurants/shopping within walking distance. Night crowd is out late so some late-evening street "noise" but for us, was fun. Stayed in room 202, balcony overlooking the square. Was a 2-level room, spacious...

This is a cute little hotel that faces Plaza Dorrego. I read that Sundays are good days to visit the Feria (street market) of San Telmo and see tango in the plaza. Since we were arriving on Sunday, I found this hotel a perfect location for our 1st day in BA. We had 2 twin beds in Room 101, right...

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
