We arrived at this hotel to be questioned when we went to checkin if our booking was at the Marriott Plaza. We were made to feel from the moment we walked in that we weren't good enough to stay at this hotel. There was no welcome and my elite Marriott welcome letter was shoved at me when it was determined...

We are currently platinum members for Marriott so we definitely know our fair share of what to expect from the brand. One arriving the front desk and bell desk did not great me at the door not ask to help with our bags which we were having difficulty getting into the door. They finally offered to bring up our bags...

I´ve stayed in Marriott Plaza for the second time in the end of February.I heard that in 2009 was the Hotel´s 100th Anniversary...so I thought I would find some improvements from my last stay...but no. Our room size was nice, but the bathroom looked very old. To many groups coming with the cruises....Lobby was over crowded too many times. Breakfast...

Our recent stay at the Marriott Plaza in BA was disappointing. Despite the opulence of the foyer, the rooms were in poor condition and small. Our heating vent was black with dirt, the room smelled of stale smoke, and the bathroom tile was chipped and cracked. The only gratifying aspect was the comfortable Marriott bed and the good location of...

We stayed at this property for 5 nights. I had emailed them a month or so in advance asking for a very early check in. Flying down from the United States we landed around 9am and were at the hotel by 10am. Although they did not guarantee an early check-in they said they would try. We ended up getting in...

We stayed as part of a pre-cruise package. I used my Marriott points and was given a suite that looked out on the walls of an air shaft. After complaing, we were geiven another suite with a partial view of San Martin park across the stree. The room was nice but had a "worn" look about it. We were not...

Very disappointed with the custemers services. We stayed here about total of 8 days. Every time we came back from a side trip, we have to fight for a better room. We were repeat customers and would think they will treat us a liitle better. We had probably the worse room once and I almost decide to leavethe hotel. Another...

Not the worst hotel I have staed in but not of the quality of many other Marriott hotels I have stayed in. Older bulding in need of a touch up. Caters to large tour groups and can get crowded and noisy. Service nothing special. Would not stay here again, think there are better options in BA.

Let me begin with saying that I use Trip Advisor for hotel reviews and am often puzzled by the extremely mixed reviews. It is rare that a hotel will have mostly positive or mostly negative reviews, so with that in mind, I read the reviews from the previous 3 months and make a judgement call on whether or not to...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
