Not good but not terrible. Rooms are ok but have giant windows with no curtains so are very bright. The air con points right in your face. Wifi doesnt work in the upstairs rooms, you have to go downstairs and connect to the 'downstairs'wifi. Breakfast is ok - coffee, bread and a piece of cake. They make you eat it...

Stayed here for a few nights in January and again in March. It's good value for money. Breakfast is ok, fresh pastry every morning, cereal, coffee and juice. Wifi connection not very strong and the shared bathroom not very clean. However, the showers are powerful and always have hot water. Tv in the lounge area and a quaint little courtyard...

This hostel is a little dated but very functional and quiet enough and clean. Very friendly and accommodating staff who are happy for you to use the facilities after checkout. Good value and the great staff are the reason for four stars but will need a facelift soon to get 5. Definitely would stay again!

We paid the same here per night for the two of us in a private room as we did in our previous hostel in BA for a dorm room. Breakfast was basic and lacking really - the best thing about it was the little pot of dulce de leche! Otherwise a piece of cake and two small stale(ish) bread things....

The staff was friendly and super helpful, and our private room was average. The kitchen wasn't the cleanest I have seen, but you can't expect much for the price in such a fancy neighborhood. The location was excellent. Good vibe at the hostel.

Well located, in a historical building in Recoleta, one of Buenos Aires most beautiful neighborhoods. Staff is very friendly, facilities are comfortable, wifi is free and they have very good prices. Brazilians feel specially at home. Portuguese is easily spoken in the facilities.

I absolutely LOVE this hostel/hotel. I spend my summers in Buenos Aires and have stayed here for the last two: you will not find a homier, warmer, friendlier hostel in all of Buenos Aires. Among the many wonderful things about this beloved place, I will highlight just a few: - Unbeatable location: the hostel is located in the heart of...

I have spent 3 nights in that hostel. First of all I booked online to buy the membershipcard but the hostel was ¨out of stock¨ so I paid full price and was told to go to another HI hostel to buy the card. Then the people barely speak english and wont try to slow down so you can understand when...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
