This is a value for money boutique hotel. We had a big clean room with a king size bed and kitchenette attached. Breakie was thrown in with the price. The hotel is in a great location, near the subte and Florida st. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Only minor negative is probably the overly soft bed.

This hotel is very typical of the zone, old buildings repurposed as a hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean (even with the floor carpeted, and it shows that it has been there for some years now). The bathroom was clean and spacious in our room, but my family had other room that instead of a bathtub had a tiny...

This hotel is in a great location. It's close to museums, restaurants, and shopping. The staff at the hotel provided impeccable service. I've stayed here twice and would definitely stay here again the next time I'm Buenos Aires. You must request the penthouse suite if it's available. The room is like a cute little apartment in Paris and has a...

I have also stayed at Loi Suites Esmeralda which I'd say is a bit better. The room was very hot and there was no fan when I asked for one. Opening the windows helped a bit. Breakfast doesn't start til 7:15 which was too late for me. Although the staff offered to bring me breakfast the night before so I...

I stayed here for 3 weeks in June on a business trip. The check in was fast and efficient. Due to the length of stay I was given one of their bigger rooms. It was certainly a nice room very large with a large bed, a desk and a sitting area. There was also a minibar with room to keep...

I was attracted by some good ratings I saw on internet and a good fare but I left before the end of my stay in Buenos Aires. It is crearly one of these old hotels never refurnished (except maybe the tv). The location is very good in Retiro area but there are better options around.

I have stayed in this hotel in three different occasions and I was very satisfied. There is a nice young staff that are very professional and helpful. Even though it looked dated, the rooms were so big and clean that it does not really strikes you. The breakfast was very limited, but it is better than nothing. When i go...

from reading all these comments I had given it with less expectation, yet, staffs not friendly at all, broken hair dryer, leaking bathtub, no in-room safe, smelly bathroom, poor breakfast buffet, pay wi-fi in room, stained carpet. Asked for assistant twice at front desk, one was successful, the other was a total failure, threw me a map and told me...

I was with a family of 4. Centrally located between most important streets of Buenos Aires. Very easy to take transportation, taxis, subway, etc. Rooms were comfortable, a little bit tight to take a shower. Breakfast buffet was poor, need to improve and wifi not included in the room, we had to pay.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.

“There is some street noise- probably higher up the building the better (fine on second floor)”
catherinep585, 7 Dec 2014 | Read review
“Our room was on the second or third floor which eliminated much of the street noise. Don't plan on doing much cooking in the room. The appliances were purchased from the Flintstones 50 years ago. Many good restaurants in the area. Carry smaller denominations of cash. (You don't get small denominations from an atm and none of the shops and stores were willing to give change from the equivalent of a $10 bill.) Also many of the smaller places don't accept credit cards. Boca is a great area of Buenos Aires to visit especially on the weekend. But don't get stuck there after dark. Dangerous.”
