Rooms dont have ac, its central so be prepared to claim if its hot. Central rooms go to inner patios so you hear all noises. Breakfast is ok, location is good. Also had a problem with a flooded bathroom but its just part of not being maintained not a 4 star.

Great hotel and just what I needed. Location is in a safe zone, close to everything! Service was well prepared, amicable staff, and very accommodating. I loved their breakfast each morning which was very abundant and fresh. It was a very comfortable stay and would definitely come back.

We booked a standard room and as soon as I told the front desk manager the reason to our trip to Buenos Aires, he upgraded us to one of their suites with the monument on the 9 de Julio Ave. Our stayed was short. Wifi of course was complimentary and their staff was extremely amicable. Thanks, Nicolas for handling our... More

We had a wonderful stay, the location and views were amazing and the breakfast was incredible. Martin from the front desk provides us with everything we needed to explore the city. We will be coming back for the fresh orange juice!

The hotel was in a very safe neighborhood and it was in a great location for travelers :) There were restaurants and shops all around the district and I felt comfortable walking around the area. Definitely worth checking out.

We spent almost a week at El Conquistador and could not be happier. The location was very central, walking distance from the historic neighbors of Recoleta, Barrio Norte and the newer and hip Puerto Madero. The staff was really friendly and gave us really good advice. Breakfast was abundant and fresh. Overall, a great place to stay!

Good location, great service. Breakfast is great, enough to skip lunch. Solid 2.5 stars. 12 minute walk to subway, 5 min to Florida. For dinner try Natasha restaurant 50 yards away. Air conditioning not there but it was not a problem for us. Currency exchange is available at reception at an acceptable rate.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
