Very well located! The breakfast is better than a "normal Argentinian breakfast"! I came for business, and there is a very small but comfy room in the lobby for working, I spent a concentrated time over there! It was great! The room is clean and comfy as well.

Affordable hotel in a nice part of the city. Easily accessible by cab to the airport, both domestic and international. Free welcome drink. Room clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful with maps, directions, exchanging money and arranging airport transportation. Breakfast abundant. Thanks for a great stay.

We took the taxi to the hotel which costed 300 pesos. The location is good. We had complimentary wine as welcome drink. Cross the street, there is a steakhouse which is good. The bed in twin room is bigger than regular twin. With the money you paid $64, it is very good.

We were here during the day, we've arrived early morning with connection flights in the late afternoon so we needed to rest a little, and this hotel was a very good option to stay and enjoyed the option to have a room during 6 hours. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Good location and the staff was friendly and warm. Thanks!

The room we had , on the 4th floor was tatty and tired . The bathroom was particularly poor with rusty vents and a very old bath , discoloured and marked. The whole impression was of a poor cheap room needing a complete makeover. Breakfast was not any better with the area having unclean tables and broken windows with a...

We stayed for the first time at El Conquistador 25 years ago. At that time it was brand new. Not much has changed since then. The management is keeping the Hotel in good shape but the passage of time is showing its trace. Cleanliness is unquestionable, but renovation and upgrading is due. The hotel offers good breakfast with fruits and...

Best location to public transport and shopping. My congratulation to reception personnel and the bar, especially to Gaston who treat us like he knew us for long time, make us feel home. At the check in we encounter slight problem with reservation including breakfast, but likely I had a hard copy of the booking paid and was resolved.

I have been loyal to this hotel for over 10 years, it is well located and has mainly dedicated friendly staff, Jorge particularly. However on my return, I stayed for two nights then back for one night after a week? Was so disappointed!! It feels like all the love has gone and little touches like pens, bottle openers have gone!......

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
