Love Buenos Aires, but Design hotel is neither the hotel or location if your under 50. After reading several trip adviser comments, we opted to have our own experience (regretfully) Firstly the hotel: The staff struggle to communicate with you in English, they are not interested in making your stay a happy experience. The rooms although somewhat trendy are small... More

I was trying to start this review with a positive spirit. But I simply can't. the only good thing about the Designer Suites Buenos Aires are the fotos from the website. Strategically taken, the fotos criate a make-up that does not let you see the awful weekend you are going to have by stayng there. We arrived at night, and... More

I loved the pictures of the hotel at the website but after reading some reviews of this site I doubted to stay here. Fortunally I decided to have my own experience and now I can tell you the great stay I enjoy here... Let me tell you that the staff at the reception desk , housekeeping and restaurant was very... The website looked amazing & we had stayed in the El Calafate Design Suites (which was gorgeous) so we booked the Buenos Aires Design Suites. If I was to choose one word to describe the hotel it would be `disappointing`. The room was like a student bedsit and was showing its age. The reception was narrow and the art was... More

very good location in buenos aires, one block from santa fe street Very modern design in the decoration, but the whole establishment lacks quality... Not bad the rooms, nice decoration, but, again, no good quality showing. Very poor breakfast, In all, just an average impression

The staff seems to be underpaid and overworked, just 1 girl runs the bar and room service at once, microwaving god knows when done food and attending tables at the same time, not her fault, bad management i guess, don't believe the advertised price, add up 60% more on 'misterious' taxes, the dollar value is taken WAY down market price... I think some reviews are a bit too hard. Maybe people are expecting some luxury hotel, which is not the case. Is is a well priced hotel and, for the price, very different from most anything in Buenos Aires. Stayed in a "small" suite, but very reasonable for two people. The only complaint is that the the bathroom is indeed... More

I just read the negative reviews about this hotel and must say that my experience was much different. I was there in March with my husband and two children and we stayed in a suite that had a view out toward the front of the hotel. It was lovely. Across the street is something like the Dept. of Education (or... More

Loved how comfortable and conveninet it was. My room had an expresso machine and a nice seating area. The room is simple but contemporary and worth every penny. It was not a full service hotel but perfect for young people wanting to stay in a nice looking place without people bugging you.

We chose Design Suites for several reasons: pictures and descriptions of the size of its rooms which feature unusually modern design and modern furniture; its rating as a 4 Star hotel; its location in a central yet less touristy part of BA; and the price - about $82 a day including breakfast and all taxes. (There are many 4 Star... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
